La datation des déprédations des insectes xylophages de l'habitat fait l'objet d'une approche méthodologique sur le modèle de la datation de la mort pour le judiciaire et le médico-légal.De nombreuses expertises et observations ont abouti à une méthode structurée basée sur des indices matériels recélant des informations scientifiques bien établies et fiables. L'analyse complexe de ces informations donne une chronologie de faits conduisant à la détermination de l'origine des faits de déprédations avec une précision de six mois à un an.Cette approche constitue une base de travail pour l'élaboration d'une procédure bien définie qui, étayée par une base bibliographique actualisée et par des éléments nouveaux issus d'une recherche approfondie, finalisera une...

For convenience, we treat all “polyneopteran” orders together. Five orders of hemimetabolous “Polyneoptera” include species alien to Europe, namely Blattodea, Isoptera, Orthoptera, Phasmatodea and Dermaptera. A total of 37 species alien to Europe have been recorded. Th ese belong to 14 diff erent families. Most of these species show a detritivorous feeding regime (22 spp.), whereas 12 species are phytophagous and two are predators. Th e majority of species were fi rst observed between 1900 and 1975. Unlike other arthropod groups, the mean number of polyneopteran species newly recorded per year showed no acceleration since 1975. Trail-following bioassays show that trails of the two subterranean termites, Reticulitermes lucifugus grassei and R. santonensis, which are sympatric in some areas of southwestern France, are not species specific. Even when tested just above threshold level, trails from pentane extracts of whole workers of R. santonensis are always preferred by both species. If the R. santonensis extract is progressively diluted, the preference is lost. In purified extracts of workers of R. lucifugus grassei that elicited a trail-following response, only one compound is active.
