Performance of fall and winter crops in a no tillage system in west Paraná State Agronomy
Albrecht, Leandro Paiola; Krenchinski, Fábio Henrique; Gomes, Alcides de Oliveira; Albrecht, Alfredo Junior Paiola; Mattiuzzi, Mateus Dalpubel; Cassol, Marcelo.
The long-term exploitation of natural resources by agricultural activities has resulted in the need for alternative measures to restore degraded soil. The cultivation of cover crops can generate great benefits for agricultural systems, enabling the exploitation of natural resources, including water, light and nutrients, as well as the recovery of degraded soils. This work aimed to assess the coverage rate, fresh mass and dry mass of cover crops from fall and winter as well as the floristic composition of the weeds. The work was conducted in field conditions in soil classified as eutroferric Red Oxisol in the region of the city of Palotina, Paraná State, Brazil, using a random block experimental design with four replications. The treatments consisted of...

Macedo, Lucas Chagastelles Pinto de; Dornelles, Sylvio Henrique Bidel; Peripolli, Mariane; Trivisiol, Vinicius Severo; Conceição, Danúbia Quadros da; Pivetta, Maicon; Escobar, Otávio dos Santos; Essi, Liliana.
The genetic variability and genetic versatility of plants belonging to Poaceae provide morphophysiological responses that allow these individuals to adapt to environmental changes, especially in relation to soil moisture. Urochloa plantaginea and U. platyphylla are grasses typical of dry environment, also found as weeds in rice fields, where there are high amounts of water in the soil. The objective of this work is to analyze the development of these two species in different environments, subjecting them to three different amounts of water in the soil. Morphological parameters were analyzed in order to verify and quantify which suffered alteration with respect to water variation. Caryopsis of the two species were collected in a commercial irrigated rice...
