Bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease is caused by bacteria Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). Infection of this disease can occur at all stages of rice plants from seedling to heading. It can cause as high as 80 % yield reduction. The utilization of resistant varieties have been considered to be the most effective way to control the disease. At present, rice varieties are not widely resistant to BLB disease which has many strains. The resistant varieties having different BLB resistant genes are associated with the different strains of the pathogen. It is necessary to improve rice varieties for widely resistance to BLB disease. Rice improvement for BLB disease resistance was conducted by crossing between a line (RGDU07097-1-MAS-8-9-B-1) with BLB disease...

Bacterial leaf blight disease (BB) of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (ex Ishiyama) (Xoo). In 2007 found severe outbreak in central region and lower north region of Thailand in Phitsanulok 2 and Chai Nat 1 variety. The farmers’s yield has been damaged. Integrated disease management (IDM) by applied the cultural practices combined with bactericide to reduce the disease severity in paddy field, that cultivated non-resistant variety to BB. To maintain yield meet potential of rice varieties or reduce damage to a minimum. In wet season 2010, research in paddy field of Chai Nat rice research center by broadcasting Chai Nat 1 variety. 抗臺灣地區白葉枯病之稻品種篩選 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]本研究為尋找出抗臺灣地區稻白葉枯病之稻品種系,以17株白葉枯病菌株接種111個稻品種系,共3年5期作之試驗。接種源以濃度109-10cells/ml做剪葉接種。結果病原菌以XF 17、XM 1、XH 2、XM 10及XH 24-b等5株菌株之致病力較強。稻品種系以IR 4442-46-3-3-3、IR 22、IR 22082-41-2、Malagkit songsong、JR 29、IR 30、IR 20΄、IR 28、IR 20、台農秈19號、嘉農秈6號、IR 1514A、B 5354-5D-MR-l、IR 1545-339、IR 26΄ 等15個稻品種系之抗病性較強,可供抗病育種之參考。其中IR 20΄ 和IR 26΄ 皆為1992年自IRRI再引進之品系。

水稻抗白葉枯病基因表現蛋白質之多白胺酸重復(LRR)的分布及胺基酸組成 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]目前已知多白胺酸重複 (leucine-rich repeat, LRR) 為生物體抗病基因蛋白質序列 上的特有序列,因此本研究針對水稻所有已定序之Xa基因,自NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) 及KOME (Knowledge-based Oryza Molecular Biological Encyclopedia) 公共資料庫內擷取出它們已知的CDS (coding domain sequence) 與全 長cDNA 序列,將其轉譯的蛋白質序列利用Pfam 蛋白質家族資料庫尋找出各LRR 片段,發現僅在Xa1、Xa21 及Xa26 基因之表現蛋白質結構中發現LRR 存在。進而 利用生物資訊與統計方法,進行不同Xa 基因蛋白質之LRR 序列的分布及胺基酸組成 之比較分析。結果顯示,Xa1 之LRR 在蛋白質序列中鬆散分布於NB-ARC (nucleotidebinding adaptor shared by APAF-1, R proteins, and CED-4) 區域序列之後,而Xa21 及 Xa26 之LRR 則密集分布在NB-ARC 或P-kinase (protein-kinase) 區域序列之前。Xa1 的蛋白質序列中靠近NB-ARC 區域序列的前一、二個LRR 似乎較遠離其他LRR,但 Xa21 和Xa26 的蛋白質之LRR 區域結構並未有如此現象。三個Xa 基因表現蛋白質之 LRR 序列的胺基酸組成皆以親水性胺基酸為最多且其中以白胺酸 (leucine) 出現頻 率最高,其次為不帶電荷之絲胺酸 (serine)。Xa1 蛋白質之LRR 在某些胺基酸的出現 頻率相異於Xa21...
