CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 is a short-growth duration rice variety which is suitable for growing in the rain-fed area. This rice variety derived from CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2, a product ofthe crossing of three cultivars; i.e. Suphanburi 1, IR64 and CNT86074-25-9-1(Suphanburi1/IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1), that still expressed its genetic diversity while it was growing in a breeder seeds production field. This leaded to the selection of the elite lines, CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 which had an early maturation and short growth duration so that it could be harvested shortly at about 92 days after sowing. It had a fairly high yield potential of1,004 kg/rai with the average yields of 681 kg/rai, which is comparable with theRD41 (742 kg/rai), but higher thanRD43 (666 kg/rai) and Sitto Chao 8 (663 kg/rai) at the percentage of 2 and 9, respectively. The rice plant of this variety was 91 to 100 cm in height. It is longslender shape rice; 10.54 mm. in length and 2.70 in width, with straw colored paddy.Its weight of 1000 grains was 31.6g with the paddy rice weight of 10.8kg. The color of its brown rice is white with the length of8.13mm., the width of 2.21 mm.and the thickness of 1.86mm..The whole grain is slender in shape with the low level of chalkiness and high milling quality which could give rise to whole grain and 54.6% head rice. This variety can be produced as a 100 percent, grade 1-rice. CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 is a high amylose content rice (26.98%) with the low level of gel consistency (74mm.) and small alkali spreading value. Its cooked kernel elongation was at 1.59. It was moderately resistant to the biotype 4 brown planthopper and the rice blast of Chainat and Phitsanuloke area. It has 5-6 weeks of seed dormancy period. It is noted that this rice variety was sensitive to bacterial leaf blight and moderately sensitive to the rice blast of the Central Thailand.
CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 เป็นข้าวที่มีอายุการเก็บเกี่ยวสั้น เหมาะสำหรับพื้นที่นาชลประทานที่มีปัญหาน้ำท่วมในฤดูฝน ได้จากคัดเลือกสายพันธุ์ข้าว CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2 ซึ่งเป็นสายพันธุ์ที่ได้จากการผสมพันธุ์ 3 ทางระหว่างสุพรรณบุรี 1/IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1 ที่ยังมีการกระจายตัวทางพันธุกรรมในแปลงผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์คัดโดยคัดเลือกจนได้สายพันธุ์ CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 ที่มีอายุการเก็บเกี่ยวสั้น92 วัน มีศักยภาพการให้ผลผลิตสูงถึง 1,004 กก./ไร่ ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ย 681กก./ไร่ ใกล้เคียงกับ กข41 (742 กก./ไร่) สูงกว่าพันธุ์ กข43 (666 กก./ไร่) และชิตโต้เจ้าแปด (663 กก./ไร่) คิดเป็นร้อยละ 2 และ 9 ตามลำดับ ความสูง 91-100 ซม. เป็นข้าวเจ้าเมล็ดยาว ข้าวเปลือกสีฟาง ยาว 10.54 มม.กว้าง 2.70 มม.หนา 2.13 มม.น้ำหนัก 1,000 เมล็ด 31.6 กรัม น้ำหนักข้าวเปลือก 10.8 กก.ต่อถัง ข้าวกล้องสีขาวขนาดยาว 8.13 มม. กว้าง 2.21 มม. หนา 1.86 มม. รูปร่างเรียว ท้องไข่น้อย คุณภาพการสีดีมากได้ข้าวเต็มเมล็ดและต้นข้าว 54.6 เปอร์เซ็นต์ สามารถผลิตเป็นข้าวสาร 100 เปอร์เซ็นต์ชั้น 1 ได้ เป็นข้าวอมิโลสสูง (26.98%) ความคงตัวของแป้งสุกอยู่ในระดับแป้งอ่อน มีค่าการไหลของแป้ง 74 มม. อุณหภูมิแป้งสุกต่ำ การยืดตัวของเมล็ดข้าวสุกปกติ (1.59 เท่า) ค่อนข้างต้านทานเพลี้ยกระโดดสีน้ำตาลชีวชนิดที่ 4 ค่อนข้างต้านทานโรคไหม้ในเขตจังหวัดชัยนาท และพิษณุโลก ระยะพักตัว 5-6 สัปดาห์ ข้อควรระวัง อ่อนแอต่อโรคขอบใบแห้ง ค่อนข้างอ่อนแอต่อโรคไหม้ในเขตภาคกลาง
