Blast and bacterial leaf blight diseases are major diseases, which cause damage to yield and quality of rice in Thailand. Evaluation of rice lines/varieties from rice gene germplasm bank (Rice Department) and rice germplasm from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) under the International network for genetic evaluation of rice (INGER). Reaction test to blast and bacterial leaf blight diseases, with the objective for blast and bacterial blight evaluation resistance of rice lines/varieties, were conducted at Chainat Rice Research Center in 2008 – 2014. 1,200 rice germplasms were used for reaction test to blast disease. Blast disease evaluation at seedling stage was conducted under the upland short row conditions (natural infections). The results showed that 351 rice lines/ varieties were moderately resistant - resistant (MR-R). Reaction test to bacterial leaf blight disease was conducted during 2010 – 2014. 200 rice gene germplasms and 286 INGER germplasms, total 486 germplasms were used for test reaction at tillering stage with artificial inoculation by clipping method. The results showed that 122 rice lines/varieties were moderately resistant to highly resistant (MR-HR). The experimental data could be utilized for rice improvement program in Thailand to develop high yield and good cooking quality rice varieties resistance to blast and bacterial leaf blight disease. For its popularity among consumers and market and propagation to the farmer in the future.
โรคไหม้และโรคขอบใบแห้ง เป็นโรคสำคัญที่สร้างความเสียหายให้กับผลผลิตและคุณภาพข้าวในประเทศไทย การประเมินสายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวจากธนาคารเชื้อพันธุ์ข้าว (Gene bank) กรมการข้าว และแหล่งเชื้อพันธุ์ภายใต้โครงการ International network for genetic evaluation of rice (INGER) สถาบันวิจัยข้าวระหว่างประเทศ (IRRI) ต่อโรคไหม้และโรคขอบใบแห้ง วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินสายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวที่มีความต้านทานต่อการเข้าทำลายของโรคไหม้ และโรคขอบใบแห้ง ดำเนินการที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวชัยนาท การทดสอบปฏิกิริยาต่อโรคไหม้ ดำเนินการระหว่างปี 2551 – 2557 โดยใช้สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวจากธนาคารเชื้อพันธุ์ข้าว จำนวน 1,200 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ ทดสอบปฏิกิริยาต่อโรคไหม้ในระยะกล้าแบบ upland short row โดยปล่อยให้เกิดการเข้าทำลายของโรคตามธรรมชาติ ผลการทดสอบพบว่า สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวแสดงปฏิกิริยาค่อนข้างต้านทานถึงต้านทานสูง (MR - HR) ต่อโรคไหม้ จำนวน 351 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าว การทดสอบปฏิกิริยาโรคขอบใบแห้ง ดำเนินการระหว่างปี 2553 – 2557 โดยใช้สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวจากธนาคารเชื้อพันธุ์ข้าว จำนวน 200 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ และ INGER จำนวน 286 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ รวม 486 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ ทดสอบปฏิกิริยาต่อโรคขอบใบแห้งในระยะแตกกอ ปลูกเชื้อโรค (artificial inoculation) โดยวิธีการตัดใบ (clipping method) ผลการทดสอบพบว่า สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าวแสดงปฏิกิริยาค่อนข้างต้านทานถึงต้านทาน (MR - R) ต่อโรคขอบใบแห้ง จำนวน 122 สายพันธุ์/พันธุ์ข้าว จากการทดสอบสามารถนำมาเป็นข้อมูลสนับสนุนงานด้านปรับปรุงพันธุ์ข้าวในประเทศไทย ให้มีการพัฒนาข้าวพันธุ์ดีมีความต้านทานต่อโรคไหม้และโรคขอบใบแห้ง ให้ผลผลิตต่อไร่สูง มีคุณภาพการหุงต้มดี พร้อมทั้งเป็นที่นิยมของผู้บริโภคและตลาด เพื่อเผยแพร่สู่เกษตรกรต่อไป
