Potential Zoning for rice production in the Lower North was carried out in Kamphaeng Phet and Tak Provinces during 2010-2011. The main objective was to create a database for area and appropriate technology for rice production. Procedures started with a survey on soil fertility and rice yield from the areas having soil suitable for rice growing. This was followed by the investigation on appropriate technologies to increase yield potential. Results have shown that the paddy fields in Kamphaeng Phet had an average pH of 5.45, 2.16% organic matter (O.M.), 19.23 ppm Phosphorus (P) and 76.83 ppm Potassium (K), respectively. The major soil texture is Loam having an average rice yield of 560 Kg/rai. Similar procedures were followed for Tak province of which an average pH of 5.97, 2.49% organic matter (O.M.), 15.85 ppm Phosphorus (P) and 95.58 ppm Potassium (K) were detected. Loam and Clay were found as the majority of soil texture providing an average rice yield of 525 Kg/rai. Data for Kamphaeng Phet revealed that fertilizer application according to the soil analysis in comparison to the recommendation rate increased rice yield on average by 698 and 653 kg/rai, respectively. In case of Tak, fertilizer application according to the soil analysis increased yield on average by 628 Kg/rai. Thus, fertilizer application according to the soil analysis and the recommendation rate could increase rice yield in both provinces providing that no interference from other factors have occurred.
การจัดเขตศักยภาพการผลิตข้าวของภาคเหนือตอนล่าง ในส่วนของจังหวัดกำแพงเพชร และ จังหวัด ตาก เริ่มดำเนินการตั้งแต่ปี 2553-2554 มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อจัดทำฐานข้อมูลพื้นที่ และเทคโนโลยี ที่เหมาะสมในการผลิตข้าว โดยการสำรวจความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของดิน และผลผลิตข้าวตามพื้นที่ที่มีความเหมาะสมของดินในการปลูกข้าว จากนั้นทำการทดสอบเทคโนโลยีที่เหมาะสมเพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพผลผลิต พบว่า พื้นที่นาในจังหวัดกำแพงเพชรมีค่าเฉลี่ยความเป็นกรดเป็นด่าง 5.45 ปริมาณอินทรียวัตถุร้อยละ 2.16 ฟอสฟอรัสและโพแทสเซียม 19.23 และ 76.83 ส่วนในล้านส่วน ตามลำดับ เนื้อดินส่วนใหญ่เป็นดินร่วน (Loam) ผลผลิตข้าวเฉลี่ยจากการสุ่มเก็บตัวอย่าง 560 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ ขณะที่จังหวัดตากมีค่าเฉลี่ยความเป็นกรดเป็นด่าง 5.97ปริมาณอินทรียวัตถุร้อยละ 2.49 ฟอสฟอรัสและโพแทสเซียม 15.85 และ 95.58 ส่วนในล้านส่วน ตามลำดับเนื้อดินส่วนใหญ่เป็นดินร่วน (Loam) และดินเหนียว (Clay) ผลผลิตข้าวเฉลี่ยจากการสุ่มเก็บตัวอย่าง 525กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ จากการทดสอบเทคโนโลยีการใช้ปุ๋ยเคมี พบว่า การใส่ปุ๋ยตามค่าวิเคราะห์ดิน และการใส่ปุ๋ยตามคำแนะนำสามารถเพิ่มผลผลิตข้าวเฉลี่ย 698 และ 653 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ ตามลำดับ ที่จังหวัดกำแพงเพชร ในขณะที่จังหวัดตาก การใส่ปุ๋ยตามค่าวิเคราะห์ดินทำให้ผลผลิตเพิ่มขึ้นเฉลี่ย 628 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ จะเห็นได้ว่า การใส่ปุ๋ยตามค่าวิเคราะห์ดิน และการใส่ปุ๋ยตามคำแนะนำสามารถเพิ่มผลผลิตข้าวได้ทั้งในจังหวัดกำแพงเพชรและจังหวัดตาก หากไม่มีปัจจัยอื่นๆ ที่มีผลทำให้ผลผลิตเสียหาย
