Contrast of the sea and land in a coastal zone and their active matter-energetic exchange allow considering a coastal zone as a bright example of Paragenetical Landscape Complex (PGLC). Developing of PGLC theory is based on systemic study of space-adjacent natural complexes, which structure and functioning extensively clarified by their interaction. Application of PGLC theory to ecological monitoring of sea coastal zone gives an opportunity to assess ecological state of its aquatic and terrestrial parts on basis of studying matter streams between sea and land. The questions of ecological monitoring organizing are widely covered in the modern literature. However the monitoring of the sea coastal zone has its specific methodical features regarding the selection of monitoring parameters as well as the organizing of natural observations. First of all it is depended on specific features of the coastal zone, which is formed at the turn of strongly contrast environments consisted of two main parts – terrestrial and aquatic. Apparently the mentioned major features of the coastal zone need to be considered under its ecological state checkup. In view of the aforesaid, ecological researches and monitoring of the sea coastal zone should provide for possibility to solve two main tasks: 1) establishing the connections of sea and land by means of matter-energetic streams analysis; 2) studying of the structure of coastal zone ecosystem, its functioning and anthropogenic transformation. To solve these tasks it is necessary to form special ecological monitoring program, containing waste basic and operative information, which can be grouped in compliance with main elements of coastal zone ecosystem in the following manner: tectonic, geological, geomorphological, lithological, meteohydrological, hydrolithodynamic, biocenotic and anthropogenic. Characteristic of the costal zone ecological state should be given by suggested plan where, in contrast to traditional approaches, joint description of adjacent sea and land and connections between them should be provided.
