El propósito de este trabajo tiene como finalidad reportar por primera vez, la presencia de esta familia Caecidae, los géneros Caecum y Elephantanellum, y siete especies para aguas ecuatorianas ampliando la distribución de estos micromoluscos desde el norte y centro América hasta Ecuador.
The analysis of the results obtained in a sampling made in the Continental Platform of the Province of Manabí, from Puerto Cayo to Salango and of the subtidal sampling made in the Puntilla de Santa Elena, Ecuador, seven (7) species of micromollusks belonging to family CAECIDAE were identified: Elephantanellum with one species, E. liratocinctum. In genus Caecum two species C. bahiahondaense y C. californicum were identified, two species with similarities, Caecum cf. orcutti, caecum cf. septimentum and two species were not possible to identify them, staying as Caecum sp "a" and "b". In Puerto Cayo was observed the greatest relative abundance and diversity. The CAECIDAE family with all the genus has not been reported for Ecuador before this paper, reason why these reports constitute the first registries for both genus and species mentioned in this work, extending themselves the geographic distribution in the Pacific East, from Baja California to Ecuador, therefore is very important to know the main taxonomic characteristics of the genus and the species, as well as their measures, the previous and the actual distribution, increasing the Ecuadorian marine biodiversity.
