La Bahía Buenavista situada al norte de las provincias Villa Clara y Santi Spíritus dentro del Archipiélago de Sabana – Camagüey, está confinada por un cordón de cayos, bajos, canales y pasas, así como dos pedraplénes; siendo considerada una laguna costera de renovación limitada. Constituye un ecosistema muy frágil; que responde rápidamente a los cambios originados por factores naturales y antrópicos. Es objetivo del presente trabajo realizar una evaluación integral geoambiental de la región, para lo cual se analizó como un todo único la data histórica disponible: geológica, oceanográfica, hidrográfica y físico-geográfica. Con los mapas temáticos obtenidos se logró implementar un SIG que permitió un manejo eficiente de la información, a partir del cual se realizó una caracterización del estado actual de la naturaleza del medio marino y sus principales afectaciones ambientales. El relieve submarino de esta bahía se describe como una llanura acumulativa de fondo en depresiones poco profundas. La presencia de sedimentos friables constituidos por limos hasta limo-arenosos, además de la inmediata yacencia del techo de la roca establecen las particularidades geomorfológicas y geológicas. El deterioro en la calidad del agua, así como el aumento significativo del tenor halino advierten de una alta vulnerabilidad a la contaminación, en correspondencia con el incremento de los procesos acumulativos y el tiempo de residencia de estas aguas, condicionado por los viales construidos. Estos resultados constituyen un valioso instrumento para la educación y la gestión ambiental en el ordenamiento territorial del polo y en la proyección de obras hidrotécnicas.
The Bay Buenavista located to the north of the counties Villa Clara and Santi Spíritus inside the Archipelago of Savanna – Camagüey, it is confined by a cord of keys, first floor, channels and raisins, as well as two vials; being considered a coastal lagoon of limited renovation. It constitutes a very fragile ecosystem; that he/she responds quickly to the changes originated by natural factors and antropic. It is objective of the present work to carry out an evaluation integral geoambiental of the region, for that which you analyzes as an all only one it dates it historical available: geologic, oceanographic, hydrographic and physical-geographical. With the obtained thematic maps it was possible to implement a GIS that allowed an efficient handling of the information, starting from which was carried out a characterization of the current state of the nature of the marine means and their main environmental affectations. 1 The submarine relief of this bay is described like an accumulative plain of bottom in not very deep depressions. The presence of friable silts constituted by slimes until sandy slimes, besides the immediate laying of the roof of the rock establishes the particularities geomorphologic and geologic. The deterioration in the quality of the water, as well as the tenor's saline significant increase notices from a high vulnerability to the contamination, in correspondence with the increment of the accumulative processes and the time of residence of these waters, conditioned by the built rock way. These results constitute a valuable instrument for the education and the environmental administration in the territorial classification of the pole and in the projection of works hydrotechnique.
