The long chain fatty acids resulting from intraluminal hydrolysis are esterified by the epithelial cells and transferred as VLDL-like particles and chylomicrons to lymph. The size of granules depends on the nature of the ingested fatty acids. The intracellular stages of this lipoprotein synthesis are defined.
