| The anatomical variation of the major pectoral muscles is infrequent, namely the agenesis of the pectoralis major muscle due to the morpho-functional alterations it causes. On the other hand, he presence of -supernumerary - pectoral muscles is not common and its physiological, clinical or surgical importance will depend on the stage of its development. The important aspect is that these muscles, while crossing the anterior wall of the axila and inserting in the humerus, may confuse or difficult surgical access to the content of the axillary fossa. | The present study was aimed at the macroanatomical and histological investigation and the demonstration of the structural characteristics of the uropygial gland in the white stork. The uropygial gland of two adult male white storks constituted the material of the study. It was determined that the gland was situated subcutaneously in between the caudal aspect of the lumbosacral bone and the first coccygeal vertebrae. The gland was composed of two lobes, which displayed an oval appearance when viewed from above and resembled a water drop when observed medially. | Cadmium is a heavy metal which is found in the soil, air and food. It is present in everyday life and currently it is being implicated as a toxic, teratogenic and carcinogenic agent. It causes lesions to several organs of humans and animals alike. This work aims to investigate the toxic effects on fetuses of dams exposed to cadmium chloride treatment. | El músculo elevador de la escápula ha sido descrito como un músculo plano conformado por fascículos que se originan en los procesos transversos de C1 a C4. Sin embargo, se han descrito variaciones anatómicas de este músculo, que incluyen a sus fascículos vertebrales, orígenes en la cabeza o terminando en músculos vecinos a su inserción usual. | From a biomechanical standpoint, bone geometry and density are factors correlated to the bone resistance of the femur when supporting body weight, with geometric parameters like the diameter of the femoral head and neck, the length of the femoral neck, and the femoral neck angle as determinant factors in the incidence of hip fractures, which increase in frequency and seriousness in osteoporotic patients. | Analizamos 62 axilas, 32 derechas y 30 izquierdas de cadáveres humanos, con el objetivo de hacer un estudio detallado de las relaciones topográficas de los cordones del plexo braquial (PB) en relación a la 2 parte de la arteria axilar (Aa) (parte retropectoral de la axila). Notamos que algunos cordones del PB pierden su identidad a lo largo de dicha porción, por este motivo, el análisis de ellos fue hecha en el comienzo de la región retropectoral y se limitó a los casos en que se presentaban al mismo tiempo los tres cordones (36 casos, 58%).
