| The impact of seed source (conventional or organic farming) is one important question for the variety trials under the conditions of organic farming. Hence, field trials were conducted at two sites in Bavaria in two years (2013-2014). Certified organic seed from a Bavarian propagation were compared to conventional seed, offered by breeders for national variety trials. One until two varieties were examined for winter rye and for winter triticale in each year. Organic seed often showed higher crude protein content, conventional seed had mainly higher thousand seed weight and often superior germination power. | Die Sonnenblume ist die wichtigste ölliefernde Pflanze im Öko-Landbau. Da ihre Samen neben einem hohen Fettgehalt auch einen beachtlichen Anteil an Eiweiß enthalten, sollten in diesem Projekt grundlegende Fragen beantwortet werden, damit die praktische Pflanzenzüchtung Strategien entwickeln kann, um Sonnenblumen mit einem erhöhten Proteinertrag züchten zu können. Aus 235 untersuchten Sonnenblumenlinien wurden 23 Linien mit unterschiedlichen Proteingehalten gewählt, die als Kreuzungseltern von 105 Testhybriden dienten. | In Austria organic soybeans are mainly produced in the eastern part of the country due to its temperature requirements. To examine genotypic differences with respect to seed quality a three-year field trial with seven soybean cultivars was conducted. The cultivar `Essor´ showed significantly higher (p<0,05) values for corn yield, thousand grain weight and seed protein content in all three years compared to to the early maturing cultivar `Merlin´. During the whole observation period the cultivars `Essor´and `Lambton´ produced most stable corn yields while ´Essor´ and ´Cardiff´ revealed most stable seed protein contents. The aim of this design is to provide a crop community that makes best use of light supply to the best advantage of grain production. Metodika je proto určena především ekologickým farmářům s cílem napomoci jim ke zvýšení efektivity jejich hospodaření pomocí přenosu poznatků získaných při výzkumné práci autorů. V metodice je kladen důraz na volbu vhodných odrůd a odlišností v agrotechnice od konvenčního systému hospodaření. Velký důraz je kladen na strategii ochrany pšenice seté vůči škodlivým činitelům. |

| Cropping of soybeans is getting more and more important in organic farming. Especially weed control is of particular importance. The aim of a telephone survey was the summary of practical experience in Austria and Bavaria. Most farmers are still experimenting with the right method for weed control and seeding in Bavaria. Austrian farmers are more successful in soybean cultivation because they have more experience. In Austria soybeans are often sown with precision seed drills and cultivated with a strategy of harrow and hoeing techniques. Because of growing Experience can increase yields and success in weed control, this experience should be strongly considered for newcomer. |

Ært er den bedst tilpassedeproteinafgrøde til danske forhold med hurtig udvikling, rettidig afmodning og et højt udbyttepotentiale. | Background Early in a season the crop covers only part of total field area. Treating that area uniformly can therefore be wasteful. An ability to differentiate between crop rows and inter-row spaces would provide opportunities for increased treatment efficacy, reduced environmental impact and reduced input costs. Banded treatments on, or between crop rows, requires a level of precision that is difficult to achieve in practice.
