O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho de duas semeadoras-adubadoras oferecidas comercialmente para plantio direto. Os ensaios foram realizados no Sítio Cazarotto, localizado no Distrito de Iguatemi, município de Maringá-Paraná, em Latossolo Vermelho Distrófico onde foram montados dois experimentos. No primeiro, foi utilizada uma semeadora-adubadora com mecanismo dosador do tipo disco horizontal e, o segundo, uma semeadora-adubadora com mecanismo do tipo pneumático. Utilizou-se delineamento de blocos ao acaso em arranjo de parcelas subdivididas com quatro repetições. Para avaliar a produção e características físicas de sementes de mamoneira, em função da posição do racemo e do fruto, foi conduzido um trabalho, em condições de campo, em Nitossolo Vermelho Estruturado, no município de Botucatu, Estado de São Paulo. Utilizou-se a cultivar AL Guarany 2002, a qual teve seus três primeiros racemos colhidos e subdividos em três terços, os quais constituíram os tratamentos. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da aplicação de biorregulador no desempenho agronômico das plantas e na produtividade de sementes da cultura da soja cultivar CD 216. This study evaluated the effects of larval densities, cultured in flow-through system, in the yield and quantity of larvae. The first experiment compared the larval yield of a flow­through system (80 larvae mL-1) and a batch system (8 larvae mL-1), which resulted in a higher yield and number of larvae in the flow­through system, after 23 days. The second experiment compared two larval densities (20 and 45 larvae mL-1) in flow­through system. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of adding slow-release urea to replace conventional urea in the diet on carcass characteristics of feedlot sheep. We used 20 Santa Ines x SRD rams, with average body weight of 21.1±1.2 kgand average age of 120 days, distributed in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments. The replacement levels used as treatments were 0, 20, 40, 60, and 80%, composing diets of about 12% crude protein, with 50 % Tifton-85 hay and 50% concentrate. Several experiments were conducted to determine the digestibility of dehydrated citrus pulp (DCP) and evaluate its effect on rabbit feed. Digestibility assay comprised 30 rabbits fed on two diets: a reference diet and a diet in which 20% consisted of DCP. The digestibility assay comprised 10 days for adaptation and four days for feces collection. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nutrient depletion during the cultivation of the microalgae Tetraselmis tetrathele, and to verify the algal growth and productivity in different culture media (Guillard f/2 and Conway). The experiment was conducted in nine-liter containers, with working volume of eight liters, salinity 35 ± 2‰, temperature 28 ± 1°C, with constant light and aeration, around 200 μE cm-2 s-1 and 3 L air min.-1. A trial was established using three month old asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.) plants in a volcanic soil at Chillán (36°32’ S; 71°55’ W). Experimental design was randomized complete blocks with four replicates. Plots had four 6m long rows of plants. Distance between rows was 1.5 m and in-row 0.2 m. The evaluated cultivars were: ‘Atlas’, ‘Grande’ and ‘Apollo’ from Asparagus Seeds and Transplants (California), ‘Jersey Giant’, ‘Jersey Gem’, ‘Jersey General’, ‘Jersey King’, ‘Jersey Knight’ and ‘Jersey Supreme’ from Jersey Asparagus Farms (New Jersey), and the controls were ‘UC-157’ F1 and F2. Investigation of agricultural mechanization status in corn production of Iran CIGR Journal

For determination and assessing the effect of agricultural mechanization in irrigated corn of Iran, two indicators have been used: cultivated area (ha) and yield (kg/ha).  Several regression models have been built, using Mechanization Level (ML) and Mechanization Ownership (MO) of all agricultural operations, as input, and cultivated area and yield as output, separately.  The survey was carried out by means of data obtained from Agricultural Ministry of Iran in the period of 2001-2008.  The results revealed that mechanization ownership of planting and harvesting have a significant effect on cultivated area of corn in Iran with 95% and 99% confidence, respectively.  Based on obtained results, agricultural mechanization has an important role in improvement...

The growth and yield of the plant Azivash (Corchorus Olitorious L.) in various densities and irrigation regimes CIGR Journal

The plots were prepared by following all the possible operations to provide a favorable field condition. Each plot was transplanted at eight different times for settling period of four to thirty two hours in clay, sand and silt textured soil.
