| Remote sensing of suspended particulate matter, SPM, from space has long been used to assess its spatio-temporal variability in various coastal areas. The associated algorithms were generally site specific or developed over a relatively narrow range of concentration, which make them inappropriate for global applications (or at least over broad SPM range). In the frame of the GlobCoast project, a large in situ data set of SPM and remote sensing reflectance, R-rs(lambda), has been built gathering together measurements from various coastal areas around Europe, French Guiana, North Canada, Vietnam, and China. | The objective of this study, carried out in the Gironde estuary inlet, was to determine the nature of the seaward dispersion of estuarine water and suspended sediments during a spring tide and high river flow. On June 3, 19(7, three flights were made over the inlet, at mid ebb, low tide and mid flood. The planned flight at high tide was cancelled due to adverse meteorological conditions. | This study presents some results of monitoring the beaches at East of Havana City, Cuba, during February and August corresponding to the rainy and less rainy seasons, respectively. For the bacteriological analysis were carried out 5 samplings in a period of 30 days, the rest of the samples was collected as punctual samples. The results are compared with those obtained in other samplings, specifically with 2004 period and with the requirements in the Cuban Standard NC: 22, (1999). | Dans le cadre d’un programme national concernant l’étude de la circulation des eaux dans le littoral tunisien nous avons installé des courantomètres et des houlographes marégraphes dans le golfe de Gabès et notamment à l’Est de Djerba, en face de Ras-Taguermess et au niveau d’El Kantara. L’analyse harmonique des séries temporelles de niveau d’eau au niveau de Ras Taguermess et El-Kantara montre la dominance des composantes de la marée semi-diurne avec prédominance de la composante semi-diurne (M2) de période 12 h 25 mn. | Las actividades de origen antropogénico en las zonas costeras han tenido efectos dramáticos y negativos sobre la composición química del agua de mar en muchas áreas. Con el objetivo de evaluar el grado de contaminación de las aguas del litoral de Ciudad de La Habana se realizaron análisis físicos, químicos y microbiológicos de calidad de agua. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que los ríos están ejerciendo la mayor influencia sobre la zona costera del litoral habanero en cuanto a aportes de contaminantes en términos de nitrógeno amoniacal, fósforo y altas concentraciones de materia órganica no biodegradable. | The state of pollution in the Lagos lagoon was examined by a field survey of twenty-six sites (stations) in the dry and wet season in 1985. Some selected sites were further re-examined in the same period in 1986. The sediment trace metals and total hydrocarbons were analysed. The relationship between non residual and residual trace elements was examined. For both years of study, total trace metal levels (mg/kg) fell in the ranges: Cu,1.9 – 132.4, Cr, 2.9 – 167; 7.8 – 830. 6; Ph, 1.6 – 483.1 and Cd, 0.04 – 15.5. Total hydrocarbon concentrations in 1985 ranged from 0.25 to 2766.27 mg/g with high concentrations in muddy and sandy sediments. | The age-class distribution of the Brazilian flathead Percophis brasiliensis in relation to environmental variables in spring and winter, and the growth of both sexes, were studied in the SW Atlantic Coastal System (SACS)(34°S-31° S). Growth was studied from 1449 individuals (n=853, spring (1998 + 2000), n=596, winter (2004)) to which size (TL), sex, and age were determined. Age was determined considering that an opaque plus a hyaline band (present in the transverse section of the sagitta otolith) represented 1 year of life. | La présente étude a pour objectif la mise en place d’un système de modélisation numérique de la dynamique marine près des côtes tunisiennes. Pour cela on imbrique un modèle de circulation de l’eau près des côtes tunisiennes dans un modèle de circulation générale de la mer Méditerranée. La grille du modèle des côtes tunisiennes comporte la possibilité d’augmenter la résolution dans un domaine ciblé. Les conditions initiales pour ce modèle étiré sont obtenues par interpolation des états simulés par le modèle côtier à résolution constante. Vu sa résolution plus élevée, le modèle à grille étirée nécessite un long temps de calcul. Cependant les tests effectués avec ce modèle montrent que des simulations de 20 jours suffisent pour atteindre un équilibre... |
