Az EU csatlakozással a tejágazatban bár bővült a belföldi piac – nőtt a forgalom és a fogyasztás, amit a növekvő olcsó import fedezett –, a felvásárlás és az értékesítés (bel- és külpiacra egyaránt) csökkent, illetve stagnált. Az import erősödése a hazai cégek belpiaci részesedését mintegy 80%-ra csökkentette, miközben a vállalati koncentráció még intenzívebbé vált a magyar tejágazatban, s a nagyvállalatok tovább erősítették pozíciójukat, míg a kicsik tovább gyengültek. 2005-ben a Parmalat – állami segítséggel – termelői tulajdonba került, ami a vertikális integráció erősödéséhez vezetett. A külföldi tulajdon meghatározó helyzetbe került a tejiparban – 2004-ben 87% volt a részesedése, ami a második legnagyobb az élelmiszeripari alágazatok között –, célja... |

This paper discusses the economic implications of the preferential trade agreements that New Zealand is currently negotiating, using a computable general equilibrium modelling framework. The New Zealand dairy industry is a particular focus in the results, which come from the GTAP model produced by Purdue University. Results are discussed from the independent simulations of preferential trade agreements between New Zealand and Korea, New Zealand and India, New Zealand and Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, New Zealand and the Gulf Cooperation Council, and expansion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership to include Australia, Peru, Viet Nam, Malaysia, and the United States of America. |

Since EU accession the Hungarian dairy industry’s domestic market has generally expanded as turnover and consumption have both grown, but this has been increasingly due to cheap imports, while the purchase and sale of domestic products has been decreasing or stagnating (both in the domestic and foreign markets). The growth in imports has cut Hungarian corporations domestic market share to 80%. In Hungary corporate concentration has become even more pronounced with large corporations further strengthening their position and smaller ones further shrinking. Moreover, foreign ownership prevails and has the primary aim of meeting domestic demand. Changes in ownership contribute to the strengthening of vertical integration. Still, in the EU corporate... |

The dairy sector in the CEC countries had to cope with tremendous adjustment pressures in the 90ies. Privatization and liberalization contributed to intense competition on the CEC countries’ dairy market. Major problems that impede the competitiveness of this sector are a considerable fragmentation of the dairy processing industry, pronounced excess capacities, high seasonality of milk production and low investment activities. The latter delays the modernization of processing technologies and thus hinders quality improvements and the adjustments of hygienic conditions as well as product and process standards to EU norms. These problems are common to all CEC countries, though to different degrees. In addition, especially in Bulgaria and Romania, but also in... |

Research on buyer-seller relationships in the agricultural sector receives little attention. A growing body of evidence suggests that strong buyer-seller relationships facilitate more efficient supply chains. The long term relationship literature tends to treat suppliers as a homogenous group when attempting to identify motivations, strategies and incentives to enhance the quality of buyer-seller relationships. This article explores the role of long-term relationships between buyers and sellers in Malaysia’s dairy industry, taking into consideration the heterogeneous nature of the producers. Interviews with 133 producers provide the data for this study. Cluster analysis suggests two well-defined groups differing in terms of demographic characteristics and... |

Bacillus cereus adherence to stainless steel used to milk contact surfaces was observed, depending on the cleaning and sanitizing procedures applied and the physicochemical properties of the surfaces. Numbers of surviving B. cereus after hygiene procedures were affected by temperature, the concentrations of both alkaline and acid washes, and the pH of the chlorine solution. The adhesion of B. cereus to the stainless steel was not thermodynamically favorable, and the adherence of this microorganism occurred in lower number, in accordance to the thermodynamic aspect of adhesion. |

ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was to use the modeling and computer simulation to support decision makers, aiming to increase the productive capacity of the agro-industry of LaticínioFunarbe. Specifically, it has modeled the current yoghurt production sector for simulation that enables it to meet the new demand. The Arena 14.7 simulation software was used to conduct the modeling. To validate the model, the output of yoghurt production collected at the factory for three months was compared with the output from the simulated computational model. Two indicators were established to perform analyzes of four different scenarios. The implemented model resulted in an increase in the production capacity of 5,000L.d-1 of yoghurt, corresponding to a... |

ABSTRACT: Whey is a by-product of the dairy industry of great importance due to its high nutritional value, and can be used for the manufacture of fermented dairy drinks which, combined with fruit, increase the nutritional value and add characteristic flavors. Therefore, a fermented dairy beverage with caja-mango pulp (Spondias dulcis) was elaborated and its nutritional information as well as the physical-chemical stability were evaluated during storage. The results showed that the nutritional information met the requirements stipulated by the Brazilian legislation. The physical-chemical stability of the dairy fermented drink in terms of pH, acidity, syneresis and sedimentation was influenced by the storage time, possibly associated with uncontrolled... |
