Status of Dolichopodidae of the Flemish red data book in the Netherlands (Insecta: Diptera) The distribution and status of threatened and rare Flemish dolichopodid species in the Netherlands is investigated. Rarity classes are based on the percentage of sampled UTM 10 km squares with species records, in combination with the most recent capture date. The Dutch fauna comprises 244 species, 22 of which have presumably become extinct. About 52% of the 224 shared species with Flanders seem to be more common in the latter region. Among the 23 species that are more widespread in the Netherlands, saltmarsh-, heathland-inhabiting and riparian species are better represented than in the entire shared fauna. The observed faunal discrepancies might be related to... |

The genotype of the genus Teleopsis Rondani, T. sykesii (Westwood) from India is redescribed: Teleopsis onopyxus Séguy is now considered a junior synonym of T. sykesii. T. onopyxus was described from Madagascar, but this type locality must be due to mislabelling. T. sykesii occurs in India and perhaps in Myanmar. Lectotypes are designated for T. sykesii and T. onopyxus. From Sarawak and Sabah, Teleopsis pallifacies spec. nov. is described. Among its type series of more than 200 specimens, single flies occurred with labels from Australia and Irian Jaya. These are also considered to be mislabelled. Teleopsis now becomes a purely Oriental genus with no representatives in the Australasian or Malagasy regions. For T. sykesii and T. pallifacies spec. nov., data... |

New and rare flies for the Dutch fauna (Diptera) In this paper an overview is given of captures of rare and interesting Diptera, belonging to different families, mainly from the years 19941996. In total 46 species are presented, of which 13 are new to the Dutch fauna (marked with an *), viz.: Spania nigra Meigen, Philipomyia aprica (Meigen), Acrocera trigramma Loew, Paracrocera manevali Séguy, Empis nigritarsis Meigen, Empis praevia Collin, Chrysogaster rondanii Maibach & Goeldlin de Tiefenau, Pipizella zeneggenensis (Goeldlin de Tiefenau), Leopoldius brevirostris (Germar), Leopoldius coronatus (Rondani), Myopa morio Meigen, Tephritis conura (Loew), Stomorhina lunata (Fabricius). |
