Looking for attitudes related to amphibian species decline: how are peer-reviewed publications of education activities compared to ecological research? Anais da ABC (AABC)
MORMUL,ROGER P.; MORMUL,TAYLA D.S.; SANTOS,GUSTAVO M.B.; SANTANA,ANA R.A..
ABSTRACT Biodiversity decline has been the focus of discussions in the last decade, especially on the amphibian species decline. After a scientometric analysis using international databases, we found that the number of peer-reviewed articles considering education practices related to the theme increased along with the number of ecological researches. However, the increase in ecological researches is much higher than the increase in publications of education practices. Studies suggest that conservation attitudes are important and that education practices are an important tool for improving human perceptions on this subject. In this sense, increase the publication of projects and programs results related to local education practices in international journals...

Environmental perception of fishermen: use and conservation of fisheries resources Biota Neotropica
Cantanhêde,Lorrane Gabrielle; Pereira,Luane Raisa de Moraes; Veras,Polliana Farias; Silva,Wallacy Borges Teixeira; Carvalho-Neta,Raimunda Nonata Fortes; Almeida,Zafira da Silva de.
Abstract: The principal aim was to assess the environmental perception of the fishermen, and implement educational activities, on an island in Brazil. Twelve people between the ages of 23 and 63 were interviewed, of whom 75% were male, and 58.33% did not complete their elementary education. Regarding social benefits, 33.33% receive a family allowance and 16.66% receive the so-called 'green allowance' (financial assistance to extremely poor families who live in areas of environmental preservation). Fishing remains the main economic activity (58.73%). The most common types of fishing gear are the 'zangarias' (41.66%) and 'muruadas' (41.66%), used to catch white shrimp (Litopenaeus schmitti), the main resource traded on the island (83.33%). All those...

Environmental education praxis toward a natural conservation area BJB
SANTOS,J. E. dos; SATO,M.; PIRES,J. S. R.; MAROTI,P. S..
A non-formal Environmental Education (EE) Program has been implemented in the natural conservation area (Ecological Station of Jataí, Luiz Antônio, São Paulo State), through (EE) paradigms, which consider the objectives of education about, in and for the environment within cultural and natural perspectives. The aim of this Program is to support information and scientific knowledge to provide opportunities to the local population to be aware of environmental impacts and risks resulting from the soil use that threaten the environmental quality and the biodiversity of the Ecological Station of Jataí. The Program understands that the promotion of community empowerment could bring the sense of participation and the directives to management for decision-making...

Chemical waste risk reduction and environmental impact generated by laboratory activities in research and teaching institutions BJPS
Nascimento,Elizabeth de Souza; Tenuta Filho,Alfredo.
The environmental impact caused by teaching and research with regard to chemical waste is of increasing concern, and attempts to solve the issue are being made. Education and research-related institutions, in most laboratory and non-laboratory activities, contribute to the generation of small quantities of waste, many of them highly toxic. Of this waste, some is listed by government agencies who are concerned about environmental pollution: disposal of acids, metals, solvents, chemicals and toxicity of selected products of synthesis, whose toxicity is often unknown. This article presents an assessment of the problem and identifies possible solutions, indicating pertinent laws, directives and guidelines; examples of institutions that have implemented...
