In my present paper I try to characterise the differences present at the level of food preferences by means of examining the value system as, in my opinion, differences in the value system are reflected in concrete product choices and thus also in food selection. By using factor and cluster analysis I have proven that consumer groups formed alongside the value system also differ regarding food consumption viewpoints. Furthermore, in my paper I also aim to characterise food preference as a determining factor of modes of daily eating. Based on the results, I have concluded that the impact of time-related preferences on food selection can be felt in consumers’ opinions, but cannot be regarded as dominant. In the system of food selection viewpoints, internal... |

The protected landscape area of the White Carpathians in Czech Republic is confronted with several threats. The protection of the landscape involves instituted policies and restrictions on production. Due to the approaching EU accession and the possible subsequent institutional changes, there is an increased demand for knowledge on production opportunities and threats. In addition there are immediate concerns on the relation between agricultural production and the environment. One major concern is the abandonment of agricultural land. In this article the combination of production elements and protection is described. Factor analyses are used to identify groups of farms with similarities in production structure and organisation. The results of the factor... |

In view of the present situation of measuring a green residence just by energy saving and environmental protection, we propose that we should build the rural residence more from the farmer’s view and set up an evaluation system based on farmers satisfaction. A total of 16 factors affecting the farmers’ satisfaction degree of green energy saving rebuilding of rural residence are selected. Questionnaire survey on 110 peasant households is carried out under different situations in Guanzhong region in Shaanxi Province, so as to obtain the importance score of evaluation index. During constructing the evaluation system for farmers’ satisfaction degree, Factor Analysis Method is used to classify the related influencing factors. Subjective analysis of Analytic... |

According to availability of rural data, and the actual situation of economic development in different areas, 1 first grade index, 2 grade indices and 20 third grade indices are selected to establish the measurement index system of circular economic development level in rural areas. According to the relevant data, standardized processing of data is conducted. Evaluation on circular economic level in Hebei Province by Factor Analysis indicates that comprehensive score of Shijiazhuang, Qinghuangdao and Tangshan Cities is the highest, that of Xingtai, Handan, Langfang, Baoding, Cangzhou Cities is at a medium level, and that of Hengshui, Chengde and Zhangjiakou is the lowest. Meanwhile, cluster analysis on data after standardization shows that Handan, Baoding,... |

The objectives of this paper are to examine consumers' perceptions of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) beef on the basis of a survey of consumers and buyers of beef. The paper identifies a profile of PDO beef consumers, examines their behaviour and perceptions on PDO beef, derives the dimensions of perceptions of PDO beef, and establishes segments based upon those dimensions. The results reveal that PDO consumers are representative of all geographical regions, age and profession groups, are lighter consumers of beef and shop for food mainly in the butchers. Consumers' perceptions on PDO beef emphasises quality, safety, and control. However, underlying those perceptions are six main dimensions and it is possible to identify three segments of PDO beef... |

This paper investigates the impact of tenure security and other factors on investment in soil and water conservation (SWC) in Kenya. Factor analysis, step-wise regression and reduced form model approaches are used to explain the willingness, likelihood and intensity of adoption of SWC investments. The results confirm the importance of tenure security and development domain dimensions in determining the likelihood and intensity of adoption and suggest that to ensure land tenure policy is pro-SWC/environment, it is important to consider whether household plots are owned, rented out or rented in. The impact of household assets implies a poverty environment link. Similar factors affect the decision whether or not to invest in SWC and also the level of... |

Tanulmányunkban 1000 fős országos felmérés eredményei alapján azonosítottuk a hazai munkahelyi étkezés fogyasztói szegmenseit. |

Irrigation with treated domestic sewage wastewater (TSE) is an agricultural practice to reduce water requirements of agroecossystems and the nutrient load impact on freshwaters, but adverse effects on soil chemical (salinization, sodification, etc.) and soil physical properties (alteration in soil porosity and hydraulic conductivity, etc.) have been reported. This study aimed to define some relationships among these changes in an Oxisol using multivariate analysis. Corn (Zea mays L.) and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) were grown for two years, irrigated with TSE. The following soil properties were determined: Ca2+; Mg2+; Na+; K+ and H + Al contents, cationic exchangeable capacity (CEC), sum of bases (SB), base saturation (V), texture (sand, silt and... |

ABSTRACT The objective of this paper was to analyze financial management practices in dairy production systems. More specifically, we sought to identify which milk producers adopt financial management practices. We conducted 55 semi-structured questionnaires in the Western Region of Paraná. The data were processed through descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis. The analysis of hierarchical clusters defined, based on variables related to financial management practices, two distinct groups. The first group included milk producers who do not adopt financial management practices (N = 49) and the second group described the milk producers who do adopt these practices (N = 6). We then used Common Factor Analysis, along with structural, technical,... |
