SIMPÓSIO SOBRE O CERRADO, 8.; INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON TROPICAL SAVANNAS, 1., 1996, Brasilia, DF.. |

The report consists of 9 chapters. Regarding the modeling, a description will encompass concepts and methods which lead to the model. Following the basic data relating to Thailand will include the situation of the general economy with respect to population, agricultural production, consumption and trade, production and consumption of livestock products, use of feed crops as ingredients in manufacturing feed, policies on the production and trade of feed crops, their production potentials and policies on Thailand's farm trade with countries in Southeast Asia. Conclusions are presented in Chapter 9 together with suggestions. The report is supported with tables and figures. |

Karunatilake, K.E.. |
Due to the rapid expansion of the poultry industry not only in Sri Lanka but also in other countries, the demand for feed crops has increased substantially. The CGPRT Centre initiated a study to analyze the situation in South Asia under a project called "Prospects of Feed Crops in South Asia (FEED)". The study was initiated to understand the demand-supply gap, weaknesses, opportunities, constraints and policy options to bridge the gap of feed crops in Sri Lanka. For this study, the data was collected from the Department of Animal Production and Health (AP & H), the Department of Census & Statistics and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Additional data was collected from other sources such as the Department of National Planning, Sri Lanka Customs and... |

Pathak, P.S.. |
The study was initiated to understand the demand-supply gap of various feed crops and identify measures to bridge it. Several models were introduced and discussed in a meeting held in Bogor (Indonesia) in September 2001 for determining the demand and supply of different feed crops. These are presented in this study. For this study, data was collected from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Data was also collected from other sources to understand the behaviour of exports and also the uses of animal feeds. Information from the Director and scientists at the National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi and Agricultural... |

Cardenas, Danilo C.; de Villa, Lara Marie M.; Decena, Fezoil Luz C.. |
The study focused on the status and prospects of three major Philippines feed crops (corn, palay & soybean), as they functionally relate to the livestock sector. A detailed discussion on local livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and feed milling industry sub-sectors, as well as the three feed crops is presented to examine the current status of these industries. The study analyzed the trends and projections of supply and demand of feed crops from 1998-2015 and evaluated the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in developing the feed crop sector in the Philippines. |

This study was conducted under the CGPRT sponsored project on "Prospects of Feed Crops in South Asia-Pakistan (Feed)" to generate information on historical dynamics, future trends of demand and supply for feed crops/products, evaluation of potentials, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints for expanding feed crop farming in Pakistan, proposing possible schemes for trade and development of feed crops among Asian countries and the formulation of policy options to promote sustainable development of feed crop farming in Pakistan. In Pakistan, feed crops, which are being used in livestock and poultry feeding as grains, are mainly wheat, maize, sorghum and millet. These cereal crops are basically grown to meet human dietary requirements with a primary focus... |

Maharjan, Bekha Lal. |
The objective of the study was to analyze the trends of demand and supply for animal feeds including the factors that determine production and consumption of feed crops. Other objectives are: (1) To evaluate potentials and constraints for expanding feed crop farming; and (2) To formulate recommendations for policy options to promote the sustainable development of feed crop farming. The method of study involved the collection of data through rapid rural appraisal and group discussions with stakeholders, including livestock farmers, scientists and feed manufacturers. There was interaction with policy makers and planners related to feed crop production, feed prices and production of livestock products. Secondary data on population, income, prices, consumption... |
