White leaf is the most important disease of sugarcane in Thailand. To control the disease, the recommendations are to use clean seed and roguing the infected plants. Choosing planting date is one of the practical measures. The experiment was conducted in farmer’s field in Ratchaburi province where white leaf disease is commonly found. Split plot with 4 replications was used as experimental design. Main plots consisted of 3 planting dates; 17th January, 19th March and 2rd August 2007. Subplots consisted of three sugarcane varieties; K88-92, Suphanburi80 and U-thong8. The plant crop was harvested at 12 months old (except for the August planted cut at 10 months old due to lodging). The study was to investigate the effect of planting dates on tomato production under plastic house for seed production and continuous tomato production. Tomato variety TBRY was planted, one and half month interval during June 2008 and January 2009, under plastic-house at the vegetable-experimental fields, Khon Kaen University. A Completely Randomized Design with three replications was used. Data were recorded for growth, yield and seed quality. The results showed that growth of tomato grown in rainy season was better than in winter season, but yield in rainy season was low. ABSTRACT Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is a very important crop for Brazil, and especially for Chapada do Parecis which is the largest domestic producer, because of its climate and soil conditions are adequate to the development of the specie. The performance of cultivars and sunflower seed sowing periods were evaluated in Central Brazil. Experimental design comprised an 8 x 5 factorial randomized complete block, with eight sunflower cultivars (Aguará 06, Aguará 04, MG 305, CF 101, SYN 3950HO, SYN 045, GNZ NEON and HELIO 251) and five decennial seeding periods, with three replicates.
