Thirteen Oecetis species of the south-west Pacific area from Sulawesi, to Northern Australia and the Solomon Islands are placed in a new reticulata species-group on the basis of the distinctive shield-like tergite 8 in the males. Twelve new species are described in this paper: Oecetis accola sp. n., arawana sp. n., barbarae sp. n., catenulata sp. n., epekeina sp. n., kakaduensis sp. n., keraia sp. n., kolobota sp. n., oresbiosa sp. n parmata sp. n., piptona sp. n. and xaniona sp. n.; and a thirteenth species, reticulata Kimmins, is figured for comparison.

Ondanks de fors toegenomen aandacht voor watermacrofauna sinds begin jaren 1980 is de schietmot Molanna albicans maar sporadisch aangetroffen. In dit artikel wordt de eerste larvenvondst van M. albicans buiten Drenthe beschreven. Samen met de vindplaatsen in Drenthe is de soort nu van vijf vennen in Nederland bekend. Aanvullend worden de determinatiekenmerken aan de hand van foto’s geïllustreerd.

Eight new species of Hydroptilidae in four genera are described from Bali including two species in Microptila Ris, one in Plethus Hagen, two in Stactobia McLachlan, and three in Chrysotrichia Schmid. New records are given for Plethus baliana (Ulmer), one of the four previously established Balinese micro-caddisfly species.

Six new species of micro-caddisfly (Trichoptera: Hydroptilidae) are described from southern Sulawesi in the genera Chrysotrichia (1 species), Niuginitrichia (1, being the first record of Niuginitrichia outside New Guinea), Hydroptila (1) and Orthotrichia (3). The faunal list for Sulawesi is increased further by addition of a second widespread SE Asian species of Oxyethira and three other species of Orthotrichia; and distributions of several species previously recorded from the island are extended. Thirty-one hydroptilid species in eight genera are now recorded for Sulawesi; a ninth genus is listed, but solely on the basis of larvae.

The brachycentrids are represented in India by only two genera. The only species of Brachycentrus is distributed all along the Himalayan Range. Micrasema is represented by twelve species, ten of which are presently described as new. A few short taxonomie and phyletic considerations are also given.

The genus Amphoropsyche Holzenthal, 1985, included — besides a larger number of species from South America — only one Antillean species, from Dominica. A second Antillean species, A. janstockiana n. sp., is now described (male) from Saint Vincent. These two are sister species. Moreover, the female of an Amphoropsyche is described from Mustique; it probably belongs to A. janstockiana n. sp.

The frequent occurrence of Triplectides sp. larvae in cases of Nectopsyche Müller in Ribeirão Bocaina, Parque Estadual Intervales, São Paulo, Brazil is recorded. Leaf packs were collected from November 1999 to June 2000 in riffles and pools. Triplectides sp. larvae in cases of Nectopsyche were found mostly in pools.

Chimarra (Curgia) paucispina sp. nov., of the aurivittata group Flint, 1998 is described and illustrated from specimens collected in Amazonas State. The key to species of Chimarra (Curgia) Walker, 1860 presented by Flint was modified to include the new species. Chimarra (Chimarrita) chela Blahnik, 1997 and Chimarra (Curgia) jugescens Flint, 1998 are for first time reported for the Amazonas State. This is the first record of C. chela in Brazil.

Se describen por primera vez las larvas del último estadio y las pupas de Protoptila dubitans Mosely, 1939 y de P. misionensis Flint, 1972; y se las compara con otras especies descriptas. Los caracteres diagnósticos de las larvas de estas especies son: la coloración de los escleritos, áreas de pelos del pro-, meso- y metanoto; forma y tamaño de los escleritos del meso- y metanoto, y distribución de pelos en los uritos. Los caracteres estudiados en las pupas son: quetotaxia del labro, mandíbulas, y ganchitos de los uroterguitos.

La presente nota informa sobre 9 nuevos registros de especies de Trichoptera para el noroeste de la Patagonia argentina. La familia Tasimiidae y Verger affinis (Schmid), V. bispinus (Schmid) y V. obliquus (Schmid) (Limnephilidae) se citan por primera vez para la Argentina. Se actualiza la distribución de especies pertenecientes a las familias Helicophidae, Hydrobiosidae, Limnephilidae y Philorheithridae.

El género Smicridea (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae: Smicrideinae) en el Uruguay

RESUMEN. Smicridea McLachlan (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae) es el único género de Smicrideinae que se ha encontrado en la región Neotropical. De las 90 especies de tricópteros citadas para el Uruguay, sólo dos pertenecen a Smicridea: Smicridea (Rhyacophylax) atrobasis Flint y Smicridea (Rhyacophylax) dentifera Flint. Descripción de los estados preimaginales de cuatro génerosde Hydrobiosidae (Trichoptera) Neotropicales

Se describen las larvas y las pupas de Microchorema extensum Schmid y Neochorema sinuatum Schmid y larvas no identificadas, denominadas provisoriamente Genus X y Genus Y. La larva de M. extensum se caracteriza por: fémur I alargado con proyección ventro-distal delgada, tibia y tarso I parcialmente fusionados entre sí; prosterno con una placa cuadrangular central y dos alargadas laterales. La pupa tiene mandíbulas relativamente cortas y placas dorsales III hendidas posteriormente. From 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera captured with light trap during one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (Paraná, Brazil), 6,375 belong to the family Leptoceridae. The individuals of the family were identified and a list of species is presented. The following species are recorded for the first time to Paraná State: Achoropsyche duodecimpunctata (Navas. 1916); Nectopsyche aureovittala Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche fuscomaculata Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche muhni (Navas, 1916); Nectopsyche separata (Banks, 1920); Nectopsyche ortizi Holzenthal, 1995; Nectopsyche splendida (Navas, 1917) and Tripleclides gracilis (Burmeister, 1839). Discussion on individual abundance and species seasonality are also presented.
