| Each summer, the IFREMER laboratory of Arcachon monitors, in the scope of an agreement with the Regional Conchological Comity of Arcachon, the reproduction of Pacific oysters in the Arcachon Bay. This monitoring aims to provide oyster farmers with information necessary to the spat collecting: - dates and amount of spawn, - larval development speed, - presence of the most evolved stages in the habitat (close to fixation). Reproduction is monitored from June to September, with plankton being sampled four times a week on different representative sites. Oyster larvae at different stages are counted. | The Aquaculture Resources Department's mollusc network (REMORA) federates six coastal Ifremer laboratories. Since 1993, REMORA has implemented a unique national protocol to account for the variability in the growth of Pacific oysters farmed in 39 sites within the main production areas, from Normandy to the Mediterranean Sea. In 1995, the goal of the network was expanded to include monitoring of a second age class. To do so, the protocol developed for adults was adapted to monitor juveniles. The data, organised in Excel worksheets with a specific application written in Visual Basic, allows for inter-station and inter-annual comparisons and thereby constitutes a database of interest to oyster farmers, scientists and administrative personnel. |

| Après une quinzaine d'années pendant lesquelles le captage de l'huître creuse a été normal ou pléthorique dans le Bassin d'Arcachon, la saison 1998 a donné de très faibles résultats. Plusieurs hypothèses ont été émises pour expliquer ce déficit : conditions climatiques et hydrologiques exceptionnelles, manque de nourriture pour les larves, maladie, contamination du milieu ayant eu un impact sur les larves ou sur leur nourriture. Chacune de ces hypothèses a été étudiée, en reprenant les données de 1998 lorsqu'elles étaient disponibles, et en acquérant l'ensemble des données nécessaires à l'explication du phénomène au cours de la saison de reproduction 1999. |

| The Stanway cylinder was tested in the bay of Arcachon from September 1989 to August 1991. Trials were mainly performed on the Japanese oyster Crassostrea gigas in a wind-exposed area. The seed, spat, 18 month old oysters development and fattening of 2 year old oysters were studied. Compared to plastic bags the Stanway cylinder has high positive effects on survival and growth of Crassostrea gigas seed. It also has positive effects on commercial sized Crassostrea gigas fattening. | Introduction Massive proliferations of algae and, in particular green macroalgae, have been known all over the continents for several decades. They affect various littoral sites and belong to diverse species (Ulva, Enteromorpha and especially Cladophora). In 1990, on the North Brittany shore, more than 80 000 m3 ulvas have been mechanically removed by affected communities. | Les conditions très favorables à la reproduction de l'huître dans le bassin d'Arcachon, lui ont donné traditionnellement une vocation de centre de captage. Cette activité, très perturbée durant 5 années consécutives (peintures antisalissure à base d'organostanniques), a retrouvé son cours normal depuis 1982. Il est donc apparu intéressant de faire le point sur l'importance du captage réalisé dans le bassin, du fait de ses répercussions à la fois sur la vente de naissains et sur le recrutement de la population de Crassostrea gigas en élevage. | La conchyliculture, et principalement l’élevage de l’huître creuse, Crassostrea gigas, constitue la principale activité aquacole française. Cette activité repose, en grande partie, sur le recrutement naturel de l’espèce qui assure 70% des besoins en jeunes huîtres (naissain) : cette activité de collecte s’appelle le captage. | Depuis 2008, des mortalités massives d’huîtres creuses âgées de moins d’un an sont relevées sur le littoral français dès que la température de l’eau de mer atteint le seuil de 16°C. Ces mortalités de naissains sont associées à la détection du virus OsHV-1 μVar. | De 2009 à 2011, le captage à Arcachon fut particulièrement mauvais. Des pontes tardives associées à de faibles quantités de larves “petites” indiquaient un problème probablement au niveau de la maturation ou de la ponte. Le programme FéLiBA consiste en un zoom, pour l’année 2013, sur la Fécondité des huîtres creuses en Lien avec la qualité de l’eau du Bassin d’Arcachon. Ce programme s’est traduit par différentes actions de terrain. Tout d’abord, la maturation des huîtres issues du captage d’Arcachon ou de Marennes-Oléron a été suivie à Arcachon (site du Tès) et comparée avec celle de la Rade de Brest (pointe du Château) au cours de l’année 2013.
