Die Prüfung umfasste agronomische Aspekte (Eignung für biologischen Anbau, Ertrag) und Qualitätsaspekte (im Hinblick auf die Vermarktung als Speisekartoffeln, resp. für die industrielle Verarbeitung). | Les plantes de la famille des cucurbitacées absorbent très facilement les pesticides organochlorés. Si les cucurbitacées poussent dans des sols pollués, les teneurs en POC peuvent être tellement élevées dans les produits récoltés qu'il dépassent les teneurs maximales tolérées. Bio Suisse et Demeter recommandent, avant de cultiver pour la première fois des cucurbitacées, de clarifier les risques de contamination par des POC et en cas de risques de faire une fois préventivement une analyse de terre. | Plants and plant extracts, here called 'botanicals', have been used for plant protection for a long time. Quantitatively, the most important botanical is pyrethrum, followed by azadirachtin, rotenone and essential oils. The current regulatory systm for pesticides is often seen as a major hurdle for the market introduction of new botanicals. The EU-funded Specific Support Action project 'REBECA' has held a series of workshops with stakeholder representatives.
