Research was aimed at studying the optimum vacuum cooling process of cos lettuce precooled from initial core temperature of 19-21 °C to the final core temperature of 4±1 °C. The experiment was carried out in a rectangular vacuum chamber having a volume of 14.98 m3. In the experiment, the final pressures for vacuum-cooled cos lettuce were set at three different levels namely, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 millibar. The ressures were were at the final pressure of 0.60 kPa and the holding time of 25 minutes. The total cooling time was 39 minutes and the energy consumption was 4.17 kwh per 200 kilograms of cos lettuce. The electricity cost was 0.067 baht per kilogram of fresh weight. Blast, white backed planthopper and gall midge is a major problem in Mae Hong Son Province, a non glutinous rice line PRE09035-CRI-12-3-1-1 was derived from a single cross between PRE04009-10-1-1-2 and Khao dawk mali 105 since 2009. Inter station yield trials had tested in 2013-2014. In the wet season the average yield was 579 Kg/rai while the average yield 665 Kg/rai in RD21 and 654 Kg/rai in Phitsanulok 2. In the dry season the average yield was 722 kg/rai while th average yield of RD21 and Phitsanulok 2 were 780 and 752 kg/rai, respectively. In some dry-season cropping areas of northeast Thailand, farmers can grow selected annual legumes without irrigation by deep seeding. This cropping system seems to depend on capillary water rising from a shallow water table and seems to be suitable for peanut and cowpea but not other legumes. This study investigated the effect of rice aging on the textural and retrogradation properties of frozen cooked rice. Milled rice cultivar Khoa Dawk Mali 105 which aged for three different time periods, ranging from 0-12 months were used in this study. The frozen cooked rice was freeze-thawed up to 5 cycles. For the textural properties, the fresh cooked rice from rice aged for 12 months had higher in hardness and lower in stickiness than rice aged for 3 months and 0.7 months, respectively. In addition, the freeze-thaw cooked rice had a tendency to increase hardness and decrease stickiness with subsequent freeze-thaw cycles. The experiment was designed for 3 years (2008-2010). For the 1st year experiment, base population was produced by gene pool from 22 parental pure-lines, and resulted in 16 single-crosses during October 2007-February 2008. Objective of this study was to determine the effect of crude turmeric extract (Curcuma longa Linn.) supplementation in broiler diets on sensory evaluation of meat. One hundred and twenty 3-week- old male Habbard broilers were randomly allotted into 5 groups according to the level of crude turmeric extract supplementation. Each group consisted of six replications with 4 broilers per replication. Broilers were fed ad libitum with basal diet containing 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8% of crude turmeric extract until 6 weeks old. The research aim to improve the process of quick cooking parboiled rice by using the combined process; drying and freezing technique. The product; quick cooking parboiled rice had 0.39 g/cm3 of bulk density and after they were rehydrated by hot water for 3minutes they had a completed grain, look like a fresh cooked parboiled rice (control) not significantly in hardness, stickness, L and b* value had higher than control, were investigated 4 peaks by DSC technique at 51-67 dec C, 77-88 deg C, 92-105 deg C and 105-116 deg C that mean gelatinized temperature range of rice starch had lower enthalpy than control, easier for cooking.
