| De gevlekte platte waterwants Naucoris maculatus is een zeer zeldzame soort in Nederland. Historische vondsten zijn bekend van uit Noord-Brabant en het Utrechts-Hollandse laagveengebied. In het voorjaar van 2007 werd de soort aangetroffen bij Loenen aan de Vecht en in de Ankeveense plassen. Naar aanleiding hiervan werden alle recente meldingen gecontroleerd, waaruit bleek dat de wants op verschillende plaatsen aanwezig is in het Utrechts-Hollands plassengebied. Het is onwaarschijnlijk dat de nieuwe vondsten te danken zijn aan een zuidelijke invasie. Alle gecontroleerde dieren bleken micropteer. |

| Sphecodes majalis, a new bee species for the Netherlands (Hymenoptera: Apidae) A population of Sphecodes majalis was found on a limestone grassland near Maastricht (Limburg). On several occasions more than 10 female and several male specimen were observed. Sphecodes majalis is a parasite of Lasioglossum pallens, which was recorded for the first time in the Netherlands in 1997. Since then L. pallens has become well established in the southern part of the province of Limburg. At the locality where S. majalis was found, L. pallens occurs in large numbers. In April many dozens of males swarm along the woodland edges. Lieftinck mainly published on the Odonata faunas of the Indo-Australian and Palaearctic regions. He revised many genera, described over 600 species and also examined hundreds of primary types of previously described species. He included with his descriptions and revisions accurate line illustrations and carefully composed lists of synonymies and references. The index to his works is therefore a key to nearly the full literature of Indo-Australian Odonata, as well as to valuable museum collections of, especially Indo-Australian, Odonata. |

| De provincie Limburg is relatief goed onderzocht op het voorkomen van landpissebedden. De vele onderzoeken hebben in een lijst van 25 soorten geresulteerd, waaronder een aantal dat grotendeels tot deze provincie beperkt is. De brede pissebed komt onder natuurlijke omstandigheden alleen in Zuid-Limburg voor en is in de rest van het land verspreid in tropische kassen en soms in huis aan te treffen. Sinds de oprichting van de EIS-werkgroep Bodemfauna in 1990 werd ze ondanks goed zoeken niet meer vrijlevend in Limburg waargenomen. De laatste waarneming dateerde alweer van 1981.
