Simões, A.R.; Silva, H.; Silveira, P.. |
A taxonomic review of the Convolvulaceae in Timor is presented. A total of 61 taxa are listed, comprising 53 species from 15 genera. The most diverse genus by far is Ipomoea with 25 reported species, followed by Merremia with seven species. Of the seven species initially thought to be endemic, only six are endemic to the island. Two new records are presented (Cuscuta campestris and Merremia quinata) and a new species, Argyreia paivae, is described and illustrated. Keys to genera and species are included, as well as distribution maps. The conservation of East-Timorese Convolvulaceae is analysed and it is shown that they are inadequately represented in the established natural reserves’ network. |

A new genus, Soceulia, is established for Leucosia species with third to fifth segments of the male abdomen fused, the first male pleopod with shaft coiled once on its axis, and terminating in a digitate apical process encased in a setose muff: L. marmorea Bell, 1855, L. brunnea Miers, 1877, L. major Chen & Ng, 2003, and a new species, S. alainia. The species are described or redescribed and illustrated, extended synonymies are given, and a key for their identification is provided. |

The species of the genera Brulleia Szepligeti, 1904, and Parabrulleia van Achterberg, 1983, of the subtribe Brulleiina van Achterberg (Braconidae: Helconinae) from China are revised and keyed. Ten species are recognized, and all nine Brulleia species are new to science. Xuexin Chen & Junhua He, Institute of Applied Entomology, Zhejiang Agricultural University, Hangzhou 310029, China. |

A new rhynchocinetid shrimp, Rhynchocinetes holthuisi, is described and illustrated on the basis of five males, one female and three ovigerous females from the Gulf of Aqaba, northern Red Sea. This species is readily distinguished from four closely related species with arthrobranchs on the third maxilliped and the anterior two pereiopods in combination of the length of the stylocerite, the forms of the antennal basicerite and the endopod of male first pleopod, and meral and dactylar spinulation of the ambulatory pereiopods. It is considered to be an endemic species in the northern Red Sea. |

Chelonus (C.) olgae Kokujev, 1895 is new to the fauna of Iran and one species, Chelonus (Microchelonus) subpamiricus Farahani & van Achterberg sp. nov., is new to science. The diagnostic characters and supplementary illustrations of the newly recorded species are provided. |
