| Two Malaise traps (TOWNES' 1972 model) were installed on an island (lhe "Ilha do Mel") in lhe Bay of Paranaguá, from September, 1988 to August. 1989. at two sites denominated "Fortaleza" and "Praia Grande", for colleetion of insects. At "Fortaleza". 1,715 individuais of Tabanidae were captured, representing 3.20% of all Diptera captured in this site, while at "Praia Grande" 1,420 individuais of the same family were captured, representing 5,06% of ali Diptera captured there. In "Fortaleza", Tabanidae is represented for 10 species, while in "Praia Grande" it is represented for nine species. Dichelacera alcicomis (Wiedemann. 1828) was the most abundant species at two sites, representing 87,52% and 66,69 % of all Tabanidae captured at "Fortaleza" and "Praia... |

| During one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (henceforth PROFAUPAR), 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera were collected with light trap. The individuais of the family Hydropsychidae were identified and a list of species is presented. Eighteen species in four genera were identified. From this, S. (R.) discalis Flint, 1972,5. (R.) paramnsis Flint, 1983;S (R.) spinulosa Flint, 1972 are for the first time registered for Brazil and Leptonema sparsum (Ulmer, 1905), Macrostemum hyalinum (Pictet, 1836), S. | From 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera captured with light trap during one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (Paraná, Brazil), 6,375 belong to the family Leptoceridae. The individuals of the family were identified and a list of species is presented. The following species are recorded for the first time to Paraná State: Achoropsyche duodecimpunctata (Navas. 1916); Nectopsyche aureovittala Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche fuscomaculata Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche muhni (Navas, 1916); Nectopsyche separata (Banks, 1920); Nectopsyche ortizi Holzenthal, 1995; Nectopsyche splendida (Navas, 1917) and Tripleclides gracilis (Burmeister, 1839). Discussion on individual abundance and species seasonality are also presented. |

| Spalial and temporal density distributions of Amphipoda from the phytals of Caiobá are described. Air temperature oscillated from 16ºC (August and May) to 23ºC (March), surface water temperature from 17ºC (August) to 25ºC (March) and the salinity from 29.3 (May) to 32.8 (August). Two samples of 25cm² (for algae less than 5cm long), 100 cm² (for algae between 5-10cm long) and whole plants (for algae more than 10cm long) were removed with a spatula from the rocky surface at Caiobá Beach, in August/86, November/86, March/87 and May/87. After sorting, the algal substrata were weighted, their adsorption coefficient calculated and the sediment retained among the thallii weighted. | This study provides a list of anurans occuring in Londrina Municipality, north of Paraná, and analyses the difference in species richness between one well preserved forest area (Parque Estadual Mata dos Godoy) and another, altered area (Estação de Piscicultura da Universidade Estadual de Londrina). The greatest number of species was in the preserved area (24 species) when compared to the altered one (14 species). The occurence of true forest species (stenoics), such Crossodactylus sp., Eleutherodactylus binotatus, E. guentheri, and Hyalinobatrachium uranoscopum, only in the Parque Estadual Mata dos Godoy shows the conservation leveis of áreas and put in evidence the anurans as biological indicators of environmental quality. | In addition to the Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State, the family Saturniidae was studied in its ecological and faunistic aspects. The material was captured using one light trap installed in eight different sites of the State: Antonina, São José dos Pinhais, Colombo, Ponta Grossa, Telêmaco Borba, Jundiaí do Sul, Guarapuava and Fênix, from October 1986 to September 1987. | A study about composition, relative abundance and densities of peracarid populations associated to worm reefs of P. caudata (Kröyer, 1856) from Caiobá Beach, Matinhos, State of Paraná (25º51'S and 48º 32'W) was carried out. Monthly samples were obtained from August/1997 to July/1998. The density was calculated as the number of individuais per liter of worm reef. Three amphipod and three isopod species were obtained. | Este estudo identifica quais variáveis caracterizam os microhabitats de Habia rubica (Vieillot, 1817) e Trichothraups melanops (Vieillot, 1818) e verifica o padrão de abundância dessas espécies em relação aos parâmetros de microhabitat. Análise de componentes principais mostrou as variáveis de microhabitat mais importantes para cada espécie. O microhabitat de H. rubica foi caracterizado pelo estrato médio aberto e sub-bosque denso e rico em samambaias, arvoretas, herbáceas e cipós; esta espécie apresentou maior abundância nos locais ricos em tais variáveis. | A survey of batflies (Diptera, Streblidae) was done in Paraná State, Brazil during 1998 and 1999. Twenty-tree species in 10 genera were recorded. Two species of streblid batflies, Paraeuctenodes longipes Pessôa & Guimarães, 1936 and Metelasmus pseudopterus Coquillett, 1907, that have not been found in Paraná State were included, because they have been recorded in Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo States.
