Le cardium Cerastoderma glaucum, la fausse clovisse Venerupsis aurea et Loripes lacteus sont des mollusques bivalves très abondants dans toute la zone littorale de la lagune de Bougrara. En vue de valoriser leur exploitation, l’évaluation de la biomasse, la détermination des structures démographiques globales de ces espèces ainsi que la cartographie de leurs abondances ont été entreprises. La méthode générale de l’évaluation des stocks des espèces de coquillage rencontrées dans la lagune se base sur la méthode directe de l’aire balayée. The experimental survey done, in august 2005, in coastal marine zone (0 - 20 m) of Zarzis showed the existence of numerous species of shellfishes of which Tricolia speciosa, Smaragdia viridis, Nassarius incrassatus, Cerithium vulgatum and Gibbulla umbilicaris are the most important gasteropods and, Pinctada radiate and Donax trunculus the main bivalves. The biomasses estimation, based on the method of swept area, in the studied zone showed that P. radiate is the most abundant species with about 20 000 tones, followed by C. vulgatum (7 645 tones) and T. speciosa (more than 1 000 tones). La production conchylicole du lac de Bizerte reste très faible (une moyenne de 120 t /an) comparée à son potentiel qui a été estimé selon les auteurs et la surface exploitée entre 10000 et 20000(t)/an. Un programme de développement d'entreprises conchylicoles de type familiales, PME et autres est à priori largement justifiable dans le lac de Bizerte et la mer ouverte avoisinante (zone de cap Zebib).La production annuelle moyenne de la pêche est de 86,7 t/an avec une productivité totale de 12,4 kg/ha/an. The pearl oyster Pinctada radiata and the cockle Cerastoderma glaucum are among the most abundant bivalve molluscs in southern Tunisian waters. These species are not currently subject to any investigation despite their important economic value in the world. For this reason, their biological parameters, their spatial distribution and their stock assessment were undertaken in the Gulf of Gabes. The reproductive cycle was studied in relation to variations of the environment parameters.
