Consumo, digestibilidade e desempenho de novilhas leiteiras alimentadas com dietas contendo torta de dendê R. Bras. Zootec.

Objetivou-se avaliar os efeitos da inclusão de torta de dendê na dieta sobre o consumo, a digestibilidade das dietas e o desempenho de novilhas leiteiras. Utilizaram-se 16 novilhas leiteiras mestiças Holandês × Zebu, com média de 13 meses de idade e peso vivo inicial de 183,4±32,5 kg, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro níveis de torta de dendê (0; 11,9; 22,9 e 34,2% da matéria seca total), cada um com quatro repetições. Utilização de glicerol na dieta de suínos em crescimento e terminação R. Bras. Zootec.

Objetivou-se avaliar três níveis de utilização de glicerol (0, 3, 6 e 9%), um subproduto da produção de biodiesel, na dieta de suínos em crescimento e terminação sobre o desempenho, as características de carcaça e a qualidade da carne desses animais. Foram utilizados 64 animais Topigs com peso inicial de 33,27 ± 4,66 kg, distribuídos em 32 baias de acordo com o peso inicial, em um delineamento em blocos casualizados com oito repetições (blocos) por nível de glicerol. Em cada uma das três fases - crescimento 1 (33,27 a 65,00 kg), crescimento 2 (65,00 a 85,00 kg) e terminação (85,00 a 99,97 kg) -, os animais receberam rações isonutritivas e água à vontade. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the nutritional value of glycerin for pigs using different inclusion levels of this test ingredient and the methodologies of total collection and chromium oxide marker. Eight barrows were distributed individually into metabolic cages, in a randomized-block experimental design, and fed diets containing 0, 50, 100, and 150 g kg−1 plant-derived crude glycerin. The objective of this study was to evaluate the economic returns of crossbred calves grazing on pastures formed by Urochloa brizantha fed crude glycerin as a supplement. Thirty-six crossbred calves with initial average weight of 301.5 kg were distributed in a completely randomized design with four treatments and nine replicates per treatment. The animals were maintained on rotational grazing production of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu. The tested treatments were 0.0, 3.33, 6.66 and 9.99% inclusion of crude glycerin in the total dry matter as a substitute for corn. ABSTRACT The objective of the study was to assess the effects of including 0, 79.8, 159.8, and 240.0 g kg-1 crude glycerin in the total diet dry matter on the 84 days feedlot performance, nutrient digestibility, blood parameters, and carcass characteristics of crossbred dairy steers. Experimental diets were composed of 98.5 g kg-1 of sorghum silage and 901.5 g kg-1 of concentrate. The objective of this study was to evaluate the capacity of the ensilage of Jatropha curcas L. expeller cake to reduce the phorbol esters and its effect on fermentative losses, by adding soluble carbohydrates or microbial inoculants. The effects of replacing Tifton hay with castor bean hulls (0, 33, 66 and 100%) on the leg tissue composition, chemical composition, physicochemical parameters and sensorial traits of sheep meat were studied. A total of 28 non-castrated sheep averaging seven months in age with an average initial weight of 19.5±4.3 kg were assigned to a randomized block design with four treatments and seven replicates and were slaughtered after 70 days of confinement. At slaughter, body weight and leg, muscle and bone weights decreased linearly, whereas the muscle-to-bone ratio increased linearly according to the treatments. Two experiments were carried out to determine the nutritional value and to evaluate performance of piglets fed two types of crude glycerine (CG), which were made from vegetable oil (CGS) and a mix of animal fat + % soybean oil (CGA). A oleaginosa pinhão-manso (Jatropha curcas L.) tem se mostrado uma importante alternativa à produção de biodiesel no Brasil. Objetivando-se conhecer a variabilidade genética existente na Coleção de germoplasma da UFRRJ, e também identificar genótipos de desempenho superior, portadores de atributos importantes ao melhoramento, 60 acessos de J. curcas, aos três anos de idade, foram caracterizados a partir de 12 descritores morfo-agronômicos. Linhagens de elite e cultivares de amendoim rasteiro foram avaliadas quanto às suas produtividades de grãos e de óleo, visando uma posterior indicação ao mercado de óleo comestível ou combustível. Os genótipos foram cultivados no período das águas, durante dois anos, em Barbalha, CE, sob o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com cinco repetições. RESUMO O objetivo foi avaliar o desempenho da co-digestão anaeróbia de dejetos de suínos associados com crescentes doses de glicerina bruta, adotando-se diferentes tempos de retenção hidráulica (TRH). O delineamento utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 3x4, três TRH (10; 17 e 24 dias) e quatro doses de glicerina bruta (0; 5; 10 e 15% dos sólidos totais), com quatro repetições por tratamento. Os parâmetros avaliados foram produção e potencial de produção de biogás, reduções de sólidos totais (ST), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN) e fibra em detergente ácido (FDA). ABSTRACT The effect of substituting soybean meal (SM) with four levels (0, 33, 67 and 100%) of detoxified castor cake (DCC) on intake, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen balance was evaluated in uncastrated, male, crossbred sheep in a randomised complete block design with four treatments and five replications.
