Im Jahr 2010 wurde von der BLE eine Evaluation des seit 2001 bestehenden Bundesprogramms Ökologischer Landbau (BÖL) in Auftrag gegeben. Ziel der 2010 gestarteten Evaluation zum FuE-Bereich war es, die Relevanz der Forschung, ihre Wirksamkeit sowie die Effizienz des Mitteleinsatzes zu prüfen, zu bewerten und Empfehlungen zur Optimierung zu unterbreiten. Den Rahmen lieferten eine Analyse der Maßnahmen und Ziele des BÖL und ein daraus entwickeltes Wirkungsmodell. Neben einer Auswertung von Programmdaten der BLE wurden rund 80 Projekte durch externe Wissenschaftler und Praktiker begutachet, eine Online-Befragung von Projektleitern und Interviews mit Sektorakteuren, Mitarbeitern der BLE und externen Gutachtern durchgeführt. Organic tree fruit quality and yield are often reduced (10 - >80%) because of insect and pest damage. No effective control measures exist for many of these pests. This increases economic risk and can reduce growers’ motivation to develop organic production. At the same time, there is a large potential for organic apple production as consumers become increasingly interested in organic food. The aim of the project is to reduce pest damage and pesticide use by increasing on farm functional (agro)-biodiversity (FAB). Farmer Family Learning Groups are groups of farmer families, who together define their needs and goals in relation to their own future development, both as individuals, families and as a group - and then they help each other to reach the goals. The groups form strong networks and help each other, and help the entire local community. Organic farming is practiced in ways which are contextual specific and dependent on the environment, wherever it is being practiced. The enormous global consumption and waste of resources requires all in all a change in consumer behaviour and preferences. The strategy of sufficiency that demands a moderate behaviour provides a solution. The present study investigates how sustainable patterns of consumption and the multiple variation of sustainable behaviour schemes (e.g. consumption of organic food) are integrated and which role “modesty or refusal” play in the everyday life of young adults. The results of 14 qualitative interviews demonstrate that the barrier for an economically friendly and moderate behaviour in this phase of life occurs mainly because of the assumed costs. Das Ziel des themenbezogenen Netzwerkes "Forum Pflanzenschutz im ökologischen Landbau" ist es, den Austausch von Informationen, Erkenntnissen, Problem- und Fragestellung auf den unterschiedlichen Ebenen (Praxis, Forschung, Beratung, Wissenschaft, Gesetzgebung) aufzubauen bzw. ggf. zu verbessern. Dies soll im Rahmen von inhaltlich und organisatorisch vorbereiteten Workshops geschehen, die unter Beteiligung der relevanten Akteure einzelne drängende Fragestellungen diskutieren. Die zu diskutierenden Punkte umfassen z.B. praktische Probleme des ökologischen Landbaus im Bereich Pflanzenschutz, aktuelle Forschungsvorhaben in diesem Feld, administrativ-politische Fragestellungen sowie Fragen zu geeigneten Mitteln zum Pflanzenschutzeinsatz im ökologischen Landbau. |

Die Solidarische Landwirtschaft (SoLaWi) beschreibt eine direkte Verbindung von Erzeuger*innen und Verbraucher*innen ökologisch und regional hergestellter Produkte. Die SoLaWi-Prinzipien werden weltweit praktiziert; in Deutschland gibt es derzeit mindestens 166 SoLaWi-Betriebe und 113 Initiativen (SoLaWis in Gründung). In unserer Studie wurden acht Expert*inneninterviews mit Expert*innen von neu gegründeten SoLaWis in Deutschland durchgeführt, um die Motive, Voraussetzungen und Erfolgsfaktoren für die Gründung und das langfristige Gelingen von, (überwiegend) Gemüse produzierenden, SoLaWis zu untersuchen. From 12 to 14 February, the Louis Bolk Instituut organised the 3rd annual QLIF workshop, titled "Measuring food quality, concepts, methods and challenges”. During these days a diverse and intensive program was presented. Participants came from, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Turkey.
