| The Aim of the meeting was to reflect on development agendas in relation to organic agriculture and fair trade and to help improve future agendas for greater outreach and up-scaling of impact. Results were: - State of the art on what participants/practitioners currently see as the major challenges to work on; - Shared understanding of strengths and weaknesses of current approaches; - Approach for directions to take to ensure that organic family farms become a more important option when striving for more development (as described in the SDGs); - Clear ways forward for scaling up. |

| Résumé – Les caractéristiques des carcasses et la teneur en eau, lipides et collagène de 6 muscles de la cuisse de lapins produits en élevage conventionnel (lot Standard n=15) et selon le cahier des charges de l’Agriculture Biologique (n=15 mâles : Bio_M, et n=15 femelles Bio_F) sont comparées. Les lapins standard et Bio sont abattus simultanément à 71 jours (2,3 kg) et 105 jours (2,4 kg) respectivement. Le rendement carcasse et la proportion des arrières sont plus élevés tandis que l’adiposité est plus faible chez les lapins Bio que chez les lapins standard. Le rapport muscle sur os n’est pas influencé par le mode d’élevage. Les pertes de jus à la cuisson sont les plus faibles chez les lapins du lot Bio_F et les plus fortes chez les lapins standard. | Im ökologischen Landbau stellen ausdauernde Unkrautarten, die sogenannten Wurzelunkräuter, ein besonderes Problem dar, da sie mit den verfügbaren Maßnahmen in aller Regel nicht ausreichend reguliert werden können. Daher werden die unzureichenden Bekämpfungsmöglichkeiten für Wurzelunkräuter zum einen sehr häufig als Hinderungsgrund für die Umstellung auf eine ökologische Bewirtschaftung angeführt und zum anderen als maßgebliche Produktionserschwernis von bereits ökologisch wirtschaftenden Betrieben genannt. | The aim of the project was to compare flora and insect fauna of organic and conventional hedgerows and to study whether the drift of herbicides into hedgerows alone or in combination with differences in fertiliser application may explain any differences.
