| During the 20th century, several skates and rays species in European waters declined because of fishing. Conservation of these species is a major objective of the management of marine resources. The thornback ray (Raja clavata) is the most widespread species of the North-Est Atlantic. Its management is based on a nonspecific quota and lay on observations only as no stock assessment is available. Thus this thesis aims to compare the available stock assessments methods for this species and to apply them to empiric data. | The Reykjanes Ridge is a major topographic feature of the North-Atlantic Ocean. It lies in a central position along the main paths followed by the upper and lower limbs of the Meridional Overturning Cell (MOC), which contributes at moderating the European climate in creating a transport of heat toward the North Atlantic. | The Working Group on Southern Horse Mackerel, Anchovy and Sardine (WGHANSA) met in Bilbao (Spain), 24–29 June 2017, and was chaired by Lionel Pawlowski (France). There were 15 participants from France, Portugal, Spain and UK by correspondence. The main task was to assess the status and to provide short-term predictions for the stocks of anchovy in Division 9.a, for sardine in divisions 8.c and 9.a, and in divisions 8.abd and Subarea 7, and for horse mackerel (T. trachurus) in Division 9.a and blue jack Mackerel (T. picturatus) in 10 (Azores). | The 2019 meeting of WGECO was held at the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, Copenhagen, Denmark from 8–16 April 2019. | We describe the legacy Planck cosmic microwave background (CMB) likelihoods derived from the 2018 data release. The overall approach is similar in spirit to the one retained for the 2013 and 2015 data release, with a hybrid method using different approximations at low (l< 30) and high (l >= 30) multipoles, implementing several methodological and data-analysis refinements compared to previous releases. With more realistic simulations, and better correction and modelling of systematic effects, we can now make full use of the CMB polarization observed in the High Frequency Instrument (HFI) channels. | Over the past decade, the Little Bahamas Bank (LBB) in the Caribbean has been at the heart of oceanographic cruises Carambar (2010), Caramba 1.5 (2014) and Carambar 2 (2016-2017). These scientific expeditions were carried out with the aim of improving our knowledge of the processes that controlled sediment export during the Quaternary in this tropical setting. Thus, bathymetric data covering some 24,270 km² of seabed, high-resolution seismic lines running over 6,398 km and 42 sediment cores ranging from 177 to 4,873 m water depth were collected in the upper slope through to the abyssal plane of the LBB system.
