West Indian Crabs of the genus Calappa, with a description of three new species Naturalis
Holthuis, L.B..
In recent years several extensive collections of West Indian Decapod Crustacea have been received for identification by the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie. On various visits to the Netherlands Antilles Dr. P. Wagenaar Hummelinck, Curator of the Zoological Laboratory at Utrecht, collected numerous Decapoda including many most interesting forms. Dr. J. S. Zaneveld, Director of the Caribbean Marine Biological Institute at Curaçao, not only assisted Dr. Hummelinck on his last (1955) visit to that island, but also sent in to the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie important material which he had collected before and since; furthermore, during my own stay in the Netherlands Antilles (November 1956 to April 1957), Dr. Zaneveld did everything in his power...

Exkretionssystem und systematische Stellung Kubanischer Fledermaustrematoden Naturalis
Odening, Klaus.
1. Eight species of Cuban bat trematodes have been examined, and their excretory system established. 2. In Urotrema scabridum Braun a small V-shaped excretory bladder and the flame cell formula 2[(2+ 2+2) + (2+2+2)] were ascertained. This enabled us to affiliate the family Urotrematidae to the Microphalloidea sensu Odening (1964) within the suborder Plagiorchiata. A new key to the families of the Microphalloidea is given. 3. The genus Ochoterenatrema characterized by a pseudogonotyl is divided into the two subgenera Ochoterenatrema (with pretesticular vitellaria) and Morenodendrium n.subgen. (with posttesticular vitellaria). Both subgenera have a V-shaped excretory bladder and the flame cell formula is 2[(2+2+2) + (2+2+2)], as stated for the species O....

A revision of Anthoxanthum including Hierochloë (Gramineae) in Malesia and Thailand Naturalis
Schouten, Yolanda; Veldkamp, J.F..
A revision is given of the taxa in Malesia and Thailand usually included in Anthoxanthum L. and Hierochloë R. Br. (Gramineae). There are two species, A. horsfleldii (Bennett) Reeder with 7 varieties in Malesia and 1 in Thailand, and A. redolens (Vahl) Royen with 2 varieties in New Guinea. A survey of the characters generally employed to distinguish the genera is given and briefly discussed to show that these give an untenable separation. Some new combinations in Anthoxanthum are proposed.

Phenetic relationships in the genus Myotis Naturalis
Findley, James S..
The genus Myotis is of interest to the evolutionist because of its diversity and because of its nearly cosmopolitan distribution. An understanding of the biology of this remarkable genus may provide insight into its success, as well as the success of other expansive groups of mammals. As part of an overall study of Myotis, I subjected measurements of 48 morphological traits from most of the described species to standard numerical taxonomic analysis. I hoped to delineate phenetic groupings in the genus, and to learn if these groupings provide insight into adaptive diversification of species, into the history of the genus, and into a replicable approach to its classification. Phenograms based on Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients and on...

New journals Naturalis
Baas, P..
IAWA Bulletin, New Series. Quarterly periodical of the International Association of Wood Anatomists. Annual subscriptions Dfl. 40.00 (Dfl. 30.00 for personal members of IAWA). Volume 1, 1980. From its foundation in 1931 the International Association of Wood Anatomists has promoted international contacts through the publication of News Letters, which were later transformed into a News Bulletin, also containing review articles. From 1970 onwards a more pretentious IAWA Bulletin made its appearance, which not only aimed at publishing notes, requests and review articles, but also original scientific publications. The latter category increased in relative importance, and forced the editors to change from the large, yet rather unprofessional magazin size to that...

Notes on the genus Psathyrella—III. Unorthodox approach and key to section Atomatae Naturalis
Kits van Waveren, E..
The species of the genus Psathyrella listed by Romagnesi (1953: 355) in the groups of Atomatae and Pronae are brought into one section, section Atomatae. This section is divided into a coprophilous and a non-coprophilous group. Fifty-four collections of species, belonging to this section were examined, including type material of Drosophila picta Romagn., D. orbitarum Romagn., and D. albidula Romagn.; herbarium material of Psathyrella atomata (Fr.) Quél, and Drosophila infida Quél., received from Prof. H. Romagnesi; type material of Psathyrella coprophila Watling, P. fimetaria Watling, and P. vinosofulva Orton. A new species, P. Romagnesii Kits van Wav. and a new variety, P. prona var. utriformis Kits van Wav. are described and it is argued that the latter...

Notes on bolete taxonomy Naturalis
Singer, R..
Newly discovered mycorrhizal relationships of boletes (with Nothofagus, Shorea, Quercus humboldtii, Alnus jorullenses, Eucalyptus, and Leptospermum) are discussed. Type studies on Fistulinella, Boletus granulatus var. capricollensis, Boletogaster, and Gastroboletus are reported. The following new combinations are proposed: subsections Pictini and Spectabiles in sect. Solidipes of Suillus; Suillus ochraceoroseus; Chalciporus piperatus, C. rubinus, C. rubinellus, and the new section Eximia of Leccinum, with L. eximium (Peck) Sing. The interpretation of Porphyrellus pseudoscaber on the basis of topotypical material is indicated.

A key to the "X-Species" of North American fiddler crabs (genus uca) Naturalis
Hagen, H.-O. von.
Up to the late sixties of this century the number of species of the genus Uca occurring on the East and Gulf coasts of North America seemed rather well established. Usually ten species were listed: U. burgersi Holthuis ( = U. affinis (Streets)), U. leptodactyla Rathbun, U. minax (Le Conte), U. pugilator (Bosc), U. pugnax (Smith), U. rapax (Smith), U. speciosa (Ives), U. spinicarpa Rathbun, U. subcylindrica (Stimpson) and U. thayeri Rathbun. Subsequently, however, some uncertainty arose about the number of fiddler crab species of the Gulf coast area. Barnwell (1968) mentioned an undescribed species from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Salmon and co-workers described no less than three new Gulf coast species of Uca (Salmon & Atsaides, 1968; Novak &...

FLORON kaderkamp 1991 Naturalis
Spronk, Joep.

Grouvelle, A..
Les Colobicus (Latr. Gen. Crust. et Ins. II, 1807, p. 9) se partagent en deux groupes (Pasc. 1863, Journ. of Ent.
