| The benthic community of the lagoon of Lesina was studied from July 2000 to June 2001. The distribution of the main macrophytobenthic species was recorded by visual census at 24 stations in July 2000. The macrofauna, from both hard and soft substrates, was analyzed at five stations with seasonal frequency; in addition, the main hydrologic parameters were recorded monthly. The lagoon was mainly characterized by brackish water, with salinity values decreasing from west to east (annual mean: 23.3 psu). It showed mild water temperatures throughout the year (annual mean: 19.8 degreesC) and moderately high values of dissolved oxygen (annual mean: 9.9 ppm). | The low tidal range of the Mediterranean Sea and the high sediment load of the Rhone induce the formation of an important submarine delta. The Cs-137 inventory in sediment on a 480 km(2) area near the Rhone mouth reached 19.6 TBq in 1990. The spatial distribution of both sediment accumulation rates and (CS)-C-137 concentrations in this area confirm the existence of a spatially well-delimited zone, i.e. the prodelta, where both parameters are the highest. Thus, 40% of the total amount of Cs-137 stored in this 480 km(2) area was found within the prodelta (30 km(2)) in the close vicinity of the river mouth. | The laying out of an offshore site in the gulf of Lion has been realized by immersion of concrete structures in 1985. Two complementary studies have been conducted in order to estimate the impact of such artificiel reef. Gillnet fishery surveys have been done in the vicinity of the structures and also on a control site. Moreover the local profcssional fishery has been investigated for two periods of 16 months, one berore and one arter the reef immersion. | This Videocor1-02 expedition (September 2017) was done in order to complete the VIDEOCOR1 expedition that took place in May 2017. The objectives were to deploy the Ariane HROV to complete the video and photo coverage of white corals (Madrepora oculata) in the Cassidaigne canyon and to explore areas predicted by a habitat suitability model. No samples were collected. In total, we were granted three additional dives and all three were executed due to excellent weather conditions. The H-ROV Ariane had no technical problems.
