The CYNODC operates within the Oceanography Division of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (OD-DFMR). The latter institution, which is the main centre for marine research in Cyprus, has a long-term experience, more than 15 years, in oceanographic data management and archiving, bottles, XBTs and CTD data. The CYNODC main hardware equipment consist of a Compaq Alfa Server RISC 64-bi processor, 2CPUs, > 70Mflops and other supporting hardware. The CYNODC software consist of a Tru64 UNIX operating system, oracle server and developer 2000, MATLAB for UNIX, Fortran and +C compilers. |

The IOF is main Croatian institution responsible for oceanographic research of the Adriatic Sea. It was founded in 1930 as multidisciplinary oceanographic institute. Today, it consists of several laboratories: physical oceanography, chemical oceanography and sedimentology, biology, fishery, and aquaculture located in towns of Split and Dubrovnik. Oceanographic Information Centre (OIS) was founded as a technical unit in 1982 with main objective to co-ordinate management of oceanographic data collected by various laboratories. |

The IOC Committee on International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange held its Eighteenth Session (IODE-XVIII) at the Kursaal, Ostend, Belgium between 26 and 30 April 2005. The Australian Oceanographic Data Centre (AODC) was established in 1964 through a joint agreement between the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Originally formed within the Australian Hydrographic Office, AODC returned to the RAN Hydrographic Force Element Group as an element of the Directorate of Oceanography and Meteorology in 2000. This followed a seven-year period during which it operated as part of the RAN Maritime Operations Division. |

National Marine Data and Information Service (NMDIS) under the State Oceanic Administration, which was set up in 1958, is a national comprehensive sector for research on marine information technologies and service for public benefits. The NMDIS is composed of three operational systems, i.e. China National Oceanographic Data Center, the Institute of Marine Scientific and Technological Information (IMSTI), and the National Marine Archives. NMDIS acts also as the national partner participating in the Aquatic Science and Fisheries Information System (ASFIS) of the United Nations and the National Input Center in China, Documents Depository Center of UNESCO/IOC. The World Data Center D, Oceanography is also managed by the NMDIS. |
