Dry matter accumulation in genotypes of bean submitted to different levels of nitrogen Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Araújo,Juliano Ribeiro; Ramalho,Magno Antonio Patto; Bruzi,Adriano Teodoro; Abreu,Ângela de Fátima Barbosa.
The objective of this study was to verify the response of dry matter accumulation in bean lines (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) to different levels of nitrogen fertilizers. Six genotypes ('BRSMG Majestoso', 'Pérola', MA-I-18.13, 'Ouro Negro', 'BRSMG Talismã', and MA-I-2.5) were evaluated in Lavras, testing three N levels (0, 60, and 120 kg/ha) and using ammonium sulphate as N source. The experimental design adopted was the randomized block design in a 6 x 3 factorial structure with three replications and the plots were composed of five 5-m rows. The seeds were sown in November 2005 and July 2006. Total dry mass of five competitive plants was evaluated after 35 days from sowing, harvested from a pre-determined place in the useful area of the plots. This process was...

Water restriction in different phenological stages and increased temperature affect cowpea production Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Barros,Juliane Rafaele Alves; Guimarães,Miguel Julio Machado; Simões,Welson Lima; Melo,Natoniel Franklin de; Angelotti,Francislene.
ABSTRACT Water deficit and high temperatures are abiotic factors that most limit plant growth and development. However, its effects depend on crop development stage and on stress duration and intensity. Thus, the objective of was to evaluate the development of cowpea subjected to water restriction in different phenological stages and to increase in air temperature. The experiment was conducted with the cultivar ‘Carijó’, in growth chambers, in a 4 x 3 x 2 factorial arrangement, corresponding to levels of water availability (25, 50, 75, and 100%,), phenological stages (vegetative, flowering and pod filling) and temperature regimes (T°1: 20-26-33 °C e T°2: 24.8-30.8-37.8 °C), respectively. Reduction of water availability in the vegetative and flowering...

Agrometeorological conditions associated with phenological responses of tucumã-do-pará (Astrocaryum vulgare Mart.) Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Martorano,Lucieta Guerreiro; Oliveira,Maria do Socorro Padilha de; Mendes,Gleidson Guilherme Caldas; Moraes,José Reinaldo da Silva Cabral de; Pinheiro,Daniel Pereira; Oliveira,Afonso Henrique Moraes.
ABSTRACT Palms are among the class of hyperdominant species in the Amazon region, and for the tucumã palm (Astrocaryum vulgare Mart.) demand of climatic and phenological information in order to support strategic planning and sustainable management of this palm species native to the Amazon basin. The objective of this work was to evaluate agrometeorological conditions associated to phenological responses of tucumã as a species that has high economic potential for fruit pulp production. Meteorological data were collected during the period in which data were also collected for the phenology of the germplasm bank. Sensors were installed to monitor temperature and air relative humidity to where they are observed as phenophases. Analyses were conducted to...
