Three new species of Mesabolivar (Aranea, Pholcidae) from leaf litter in urban environments in the city of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Machado,Éwerton O.; Brescovit,Antonio D.; Candiani,David F.; Huber,Bernhard A..
In this study we describe three new litter inhabiting species of Mesabolivar González-Sponga, 1998 from nine urban forest remnants in the metropolitan region of the city of São Paulo, Brazil: M. forceps, M. mairyara and M. cavicelatus. In three of these remnants, we conduced a three year sampling using pitfall traps. Mesabolivar forceps sp. nov. was the most abundant pholcid (n=273 adults), always present in the samples, but with highest numbers in spring and summer. Mesabolivar mairyara sp. nov. was the second most abundant species (n=32), but the majority of individuals were collected in March 2001. Only three individuals of M. cavicelatus sp. nov. were collected.

A new species of Alpaida (Araneae, Araneidae) from Caxiuanã National Forest, Oriental Amazonia, Brazil Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Abrahim,Naiara; Bonaldo,Alexandre B..
Alpaida guto n. sp. is described based on males and females from State of Pará, Brazil. This species appears to be the most abundant Alpaida O. P.-Cambridge, 1889 species in Caxiuanã National Forest, eastern Amazonia. The males seem to be close to A. antonio Levi, 1988 but can be easily distinguished by the terminal apophysis with rounded distal lobe and long, slender basal prong; females differ from those of A. yotoco Levi, 1988 by the median lobe with a basal constriction and by the bilobed median plate.

Cossura yacy sp. nov. (Cossuridae, Annelida) from a tropical Brazilian estuary Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Sousa,Lorena K. S.; Nogueira Júnior,Miodeli; Cutrim,Marco V. J.; Oliveira,Verônica M. de.
ABSTRACT The family Cossuridae is monogeneric for Cossura Webster & Benedict, 1887 which currently has 28 known species, three of which already recorded for Brazilian coast. In the present study we describe Cossura yacy sp. nov. increasing to 29 the number of known Cossuridae species. We have found and analyzed 60 individuals of C. yacy sp. nov. from São Marcos estuarine complex (ca. 02°S; 44°W) around São Luís Harbor (Maranhão, Brazil). It differs from other species of genus also by the presence of the two pairs of nuchal organs at lateral margins of the peristomium, branchial filament in the median region of the third chaetiger and by short and long capillary smooth chaetae with spinulosa on the distal half. These two chaetal types are present...

On a new species of the genus Simlops (Araneae, Oonopidae) from Guyana, with notes on the bodanus group of species Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Feitosa,Níthomas M.; Bonaldo,Alexandre B..
ABSTRACT A new species of Simlops Bonaldo, Ott & Ruiz, 2014, S. kartabo sp. nov., from Guyana is described. The new species belongs to the putatively basal bodanus species group, sharing with other species of the group a relatively simple embolar distal third. The presence of a filiform accessory process on the conductor, previously evidenced only for S. guatopo Brescovit, 2014 is also identified here for S. bodanus (Chickering, 1968), S. guyanensis Santos, 2014 and S. kartabo sp. nov. and may support the monophyly of the bodanus group.

Camargo,João M. F.; Pedro,Silvia R. M..
Schwarzula coccidophila sp. nov., a tiny Amazonian stingless bee, that attends scale insects (Cryptostigma Ferris, 1922, Coccidae) in its nest, is described. It is distinguished from Schwarzula timida (Silvestri, 1902), the only other species of the genus, mainly by the malar area longer than diameter of 3rd flagellomere, and the denser plumose pilosity. Additional records of S. timida is presented.

Six new species of Dasyhelea Kieffer, 1911 from Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia are described and illustrated based on adults. ABSTRACT A new caeculid species Neocaeculus setecidades sp. nov. from the semiarid is described from the National Park Sete Cidades located in the state of Piauí, Brazil. The species is included in Neocaeculus Coineau, 1967 due the presence of different sized claws on leg I, absence of bothridia in the tarsi of anterior legs and the aspidosomal sclerite not overhanging the gnathosoma in lateral view. New data on distribution of Andocaeculus caioi Ott & Ott, 2014 is presented.

On Munduruku, a new Theraphosid genus from Oriental Amazonia (Araneae, Mygalomorphae) Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Miglio,Laura T.; Bonaldo,Alexandre B.; Pérez-Miles,Fernando.
Munduruku gen. nov. is proposed for the type species Munduruku bicoloratum sp. nov., from Juruti and Santarém, Pará, Brazil. The main diagnostic character of Munduruku gen. nov. is the presence of a subapical, lanceolate keel on the male palpal bulb, which is unique among the basal taxa of Theraphosinae with type III-IV urticating setae. The female spermathecae consist of two spheroid receptacles with funnel-shaped necks, each of which bears a sclerotized area. In both sexes, the abdomen is remarkably patterned, an uncommon feature in adults of New World theraphosids. Both the bulbus lanceolate keel and the abdominal color pattern are hypothesized as synapomorphies of the genus.

Taxonomia da subfamília Corinninae (Araneae, Corinnidae) nas regiões neotropical e neártica Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Bonaldo,Alexandre Bragio.
The subfamily Corinninae is characterized and diagnosed. Two synapomorphies are hypothesized for the subfamily, both regarding the male palpal reservoir, which is primarily coiled and presents a sclerotized distal sector. Seventeen genera are recognized, six of which are new: Abapeba (type species Corinna lacertosa Simon), Erendira (type species Corinna pallidoguttata Simon), Septentrinna (type species Corinna bicalcarata Simon), Simonestus (type species Diestus validus Simon), Tapixaua (type species T. callida sp. nov.) and Tupirinna (type species T. rosae sp. nov.). The genera Creugas Thorell, Falconina Brignoli and Paradiestus Mello-Leitão are revalidated. Diestus Simon and Lausus Simon are newly synonymized with Corinna C. L. Koch. Chemmis Simon is...

Redescription of larva, pupa and adult of Anopheles (Anopheles) annulipalpis (Diptera: Culicidae) and the removal of the specie of the Cycloleppteron Series Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Rossi,Gustavo C..
ABSTRACT The redescription of male, female, pupa and larva of Anopheles (Anopheles) annulipalpis Lynch Arribálzaga, 1878 is presented. The species is included in the Cycloleppteron Series of Anopheles, although several authors consider that this is artificial. The redescription of Anopheles annulipalpis demonstrate that pupae have laticorn trumpet. By this fact is compared with An. grabhamii Theobald, 1901 and similar species of the Arribalzagia Series and Myzorhynchus Series. The laticorn type of trumpet joined the other differences and similarities found are sufficient to remove An. annulipalpis of Cycloleppteron Series and included as an unplaced member of the Angusticorn Section.
