A systematic study of Naropini (Stichel, 1925) Casagrande, 1996 is presented. The species of this tribe occur exclusively in the Neotropical Region. All the known species of Aponarope Casagrande, 1982, and Narope Doubleday, [1849] are redescribed, new species are described and all of them are illustrated. Immatures of Narope cyllene C. Felder & R. Felder, 1859 are redescribed. Head chaetotaxy of the first instar larva is illustrated with electron micrographies. Both, the head and body chaetotaxy of this instar is also interpreted. The following are new species: Narope minor Casagrande, Oaxaca, Mexico; Panama, Veraguas, Panama; San Jose, Costa Rica. - Narope obidos Casagrande, Pará, Mato Grosso, Espírito Santo, Brazil; Madre de Dios, Peru. - Narope... |

This research was developed in green house of the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, in Viçosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil and the objective was to evaluate oviposition patterns of Ascia monuste orseis (Godart, 1819) (Lepidoptera, Pieridae) in the canopy of Brassica oleracea Linnaeus plants. Ascia monuste orseis eggs were laid preferable during the morning period, in higher numbers in the stem of these plants and in the leaves of the lower part of the plants. Higher number of eggs was found in the lower parts of leaves of plants with no previous oviposition. |

The genus Cundinamarca Rindge, 1983 (Geometridae, Ennominae, Nacophorini) is studied. Erilophodes indistincta Warren, 1904, Ischnopteris subalbata Dognin, 1910 and Ischnopteris nigralbata Dognin, 1913 are placed under Cundinamarca comb.n.. Two new synonyms are established: Isclmoplerix subalbata whiíei Prout, 1934 is a júnior synonym of Ischnopteris subalbata Dognin, 1910; Cundinamarca parallela Rindge, 1983 is a júnior synonym of Ischnopteris nigralbata Dognin, 1913. A new species is described: Cundinamarca rindgei. The genus is first time recorded from Brazil and Paraguay. |

The following species is excluded from the neotropical fauna: Hesperia yva Plötz, 1886, mentioned by EVANS (1955) as Mucia yva, is an Asian species, probably a synonym of Suastus gremius (Fabricius, 1798). The following species are transferred to the neotropical region: Aurina dida EVANS, 1939, described from Sierra Leoa, Africa, and Hesperia subviridis Plötz, 1886, a species of Penicula EVANS, 1955, described from São Paulo, Brazil, was erroneously transferred by EVANS (1957) to Ceylon (=Sri Lanka). The types species of two genera are changed: Hydraenomia aberrans Draudt, 1924 is the new type of Clito EVANS, 1953, and Cantha calva EVANS, 1955 is the new type of Cantha EVANS, 1955 (ICZN, Art.70.3.2.).
