The marine bacteria Vibrio diabolicus produces an exopolysaccharide (EPS) called HE800. The native form of HE800 has already shown biological efficiency in bone healing. It is studied as glycosaminoglycan-mimetic for applications in cosmetic and human health. To enhance biotechnological applications of polysaccharides, the chemical structures should be properly controlled; moreover, the production yield could also be a bottleneck. The genetic cluster of the HE800 EPS biosynthesis has been identified in 2014. However, the biosynthesis molecular mechanisms and regulations remain sometimes unclear. The main objective of this work is to obtain a recombinant production of the HE800 EPS in the common host Escherichia coli, to improve the knowledge of its... |
