Se encontraron 9 especies: Eroessa chilensis (Guérin, 1830), Colias vauthierii Guérin, 1829, Nelia nemyroides (Blanchard, 1852), Auca coctei (Guérin, 1838), Homoeonympha humilis (C. & R. Felder, 1867), Hylephila signata (Blanchard, 1852), Butleria flavomaculata tristriata Bryk, 1944, Butleria elwesi Evans, 1939 y Butleria bissexguttata (Philippi, 1859), distribuidas en 3 familias: Pieridae, Nymphalidae y Hesperiidae. La mayor diversidad y homogeneidad se encuentra en los hábitats tipo pradera (H'= 1.59; J'= 0.99; 1-D= 0.79) y tipo bosque bajo y abierto (H'= 1.49; J'= 0.93; 1-D= 0.76), siendo el bosque cerrado el menos... |

Clear habitat separation between the sister species Colias alfacariensis and C. hyale is shown when occurring sympatrically. Colias hyale is found more often in moist cultivated pastures while Colias alfacariensis is more abundant in dry uncultivated habitat. Out of a total of 16 loci, no diagnostic loci were found between C. alfacariensis and C. hyale, and both species shared most major polymorphisms. Exceptions were the marked differences in allele frequencies at the HK locus and only C, hyale, but not C. alfacariensis was further invariable at the GOT2 locus, which is usually highly polymorphic in the Pieridae. Colias hyale has a significantly lower level of heterozygosity than its sister species C. alfacariensis. In Colias alfacariensis heterozygosity... |

This research was developed in green house of the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, in Viçosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil and the objective was to evaluate oviposition patterns of Ascia monuste orseis (Godart, 1819) (Lepidoptera, Pieridae) in the canopy of Brassica oleracea Linnaeus plants. Ascia monuste orseis eggs were laid preferable during the morning period, in higher numbers in the stem of these plants and in the leaves of the lower part of the plants. Higher number of eggs was found in the lower parts of leaves of plants with no previous oviposition. |

Six kinds of crucifer (broccoli, cabbage, califlower, kale, mustard and rugula) were tested, as food, for larvae od Ascia monuste. The best results were obtained eith califlower, broccoli, rugula and kale. Four sugars (glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose) were tested to know their influence on the number of oviposition in female of Ascia monuste. The best results were obtained with fructose, glucose and sucrose. |
