| Production of organic beef from young cattle is not very developed in Denmark, in spite of a well-established organic dairy production that could deliver bull calves for use in organic beef production. Instead these calves are sold to conventional beef producers, because of low performance in organic production systems. | Abstract We aimed to evaluate the effects of paternal genotypes (Piau, Duroc-based, and Pietrain) and nutritional plans with different digestible lysine contents (Low, Medium, and High) on performance, carcass, and meat quality traits of pigs. Pietrain and Duroc crossbred barrows and gilts were similar in performance and carcass traits and had the greatest values when compared to Piau crossbred pigs. | This study aimed to evaluate the chemical quality and fat profile of meat from crossbred goats (native and exotic) reared under feedlot systems. Thirty-two entire male goats were divided in equal number into four racial groups: eight pure Boer breed, eight ¾ Boer + ¼ SPRD crossbred, eight ½ Boer + ½ SPRD crossbred and eight ½ Anglo Nubian + ½ SPRD crossbred. | Crossbreds hold the solution to the milk-deficit problem of North-Eastern states of India. The proportion of crossbred cattle in the region is 7.54 per cent (3.46 per cent of the country) as against 13.33 per cent for the country as a whole. However, the productivity of crossbred cattle has been found considerably low (4.8 L/day) in the region as against the all-India average of 6.4 L/day of milk yield. Yield gap analysis has been applied to find out the intra-regional milk yield gaps and the factors that could be addressed in the short-run to make-up the deficit. | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to analyze the economic result of feedlot operation for three genetic groups of cattle (Nellore, Nellore crossing with other Zebuine breeds, and Dairy crossbred) as a function of the overprice on the purchase price of cattle to be feedlot-finished. | The aim of this study was characterize the positivity of the bovine leukosis virus in the Microregion of the Serra de Botucatu. Sera from 1193 bovine from 65 properties of the Microregion of the Serra de Botucatu were evaluated throught ELISA test. All the evaluated animals were adult and 16 of them only were male; 85.5% were crossbred, 6.45% Nellore and 8% dutch. Of the analyzed samples, 618 sera had resulted positive to the test. | 交雑種一産取り肥育牛および交雑種未経産牛を用い，真空低温調理法によるローストビーフの消費者型官能評価を行い比較検討することを目的とした．交雑種一産肥育牛は妊娠期間を経て，約10ヵ月の肥育期間で，平均35ヵ月齢で屠畜した．交雑種未経産牛は受胎しなかったウシで，肥育期間9ヵ月以上，32ヵ月齢で屠畜した．官能評価は2点嗜好法で行い，肉質が同程度となるよう選抜した交雑種一産肥育牛および交雑種未経産牛を1セットとし，5セット実施した．枝肉格付形質および画像解析形質は，すべての形質で一産肥育牛および未経産牛間の有意差は認められなかった（P>0.05）．評価項目は香り，軟らかさ，ジューシーさおよび好ましさで，項目ごとに4段階で評価した．交雑種未経産牛に比べて交雑種一産肥育牛で香り，軟らかさ，ジューシーさおよび好ましさの全形質において有意に高い値を示し（P<0.01），交雑種一産取り肥育牛が消費者からの高い評価を得た． |
