Results of zooplankton research within a region from the equator to 17 grad. S. Lat. between 25 and 31 grad. W. Long. are discussed as being conducted in complex with hydrological and hydrooptical studies. It is shown that the region of concern contains relatively poor waters, and only the equatorial part and the southern trade-wind current zone are marked to have higher quantitative characteristics. The investigation of vertical distribution of microzooplankton shows that its maxima are confined to turbidity and thermocline horizons (correlation factor being 0.54). Microzooplankton distribution in the euphotic layer is related to phytoplankton development (correlation factor is 0.54), its occurrence under the photic zone is associated with bacteria... Processing of 700 bathometer assays sampled in April-August 1976 was the basis to analyse distribution of microzooplankton in seas of the Mediterranean basin and south-western sector of the South Atlantic anticyclonic circulation. It is shown that in seas of the Mediterranean basin the planktonic communities in the period of the studies were at different stages of the seasonal succession. In the south-western Atlantic the development of microzooplankton is associated with different origin of water masses and dynamic processes in the southern subpolar front zone. Исследовано вертикальное распределение массовых видов пелагических Copepoda Чёрного моря и его суточная динамика над свалом глубин у юго-западного Крыма в ноябре 2010 г. Описаны особенности суточных вертикальных перемещений всех копеподитных стадий массовых видов веслоногих рачков. Недавний вселенец в Чёрном море Oithona davisae (Copepoda, Cyclopoida) впервые обнаружен в большом количестве (более 9 тыс. экз. м-3) в открытых районах моря. Приведены размеры всех стадий развития O. davisae; показано, что размеры рачков в открытых районах моря (самки 0.48–0.56, самцы 0.46–0.5 мм) значительно меньше, чем в прибрежье.
