The specific rates are determined for utilization of different organic substrates solved in water for growth by some Black sea macrophytes as well as those for utilixation of cystosira homogenates for growth by two alga species accompanying cystosira in coastal communities(Ulva and Calythamnion). Simultaneously a regulating influence of cystosira homogenate on Ulva and Calythamnion photosynthesis was studied at different homogenate concentrations. The total biological effect of cystosira homogenate on two accompanying species is calculated and the portion of autotrophic and organotrophic nutrition is determined for each species. The ecological role of the excreted organic matters in the macrophyte community is under discussion.

A radiocarbon method has been employed to determine apparent photosynthesis in genetically homogeneous age series of axial C. barbata structures of various order. The photosynthesis was a basis for calculation of the inward carbon flow value per unit mass (µω) and unit surface areas (µs). There is a simple linear dependence between µω and µs, and their correlation in axial structures is governed mainly by their specific surface(s/ω). Axes with different specific surface, but with equal µs are provided with carbon in different ways. The carbon supply value for axial structures grows with the order number. µω and µs reduce with a decrease of s/ω and a rise in the axis mass (ω). Связь биологических параметров фитообрастания с физическими параметрами экспериментальных "рифовых" конструкций в евтрофируемой морской акватории IBSS Repository

Рассматриваются результаты экспериментального исследования обрастания одноклеточными и многоклеточными водорослями специально разработанных конструкций с развитой физической поверхностью (модули типа "искусственный риф"). В обширном (12 порядков по объему) диапазоне конструкций выявлена и количественно описана связь общей биомассы фитообрастания, концентрации фитомассы в обитаемом объеме воды, плотности заселения поверхности с физическими параметрами конструкций (объемом их обитаемого пространства, поверхностью обрастания, концентрацией поверхности и плотностью её упаковки по отношению к дну). The application of the method of basic components to a simultaneous consideration of parameters reflecting the behavioural characteristics of locomotory activity under a variable regime of swimming, size-weight peculiarities in copepods and external conditions close to natural ones has revealed an individual locomotory character of each of the species and common features peculiar to the species groups. It is shown possible to give an objective estimate of the copepods locomotion character through an example of 8 species, different in habitat, and in one and the same species from different populations. The ontogenetic changes are studied for some main morphological and physiological parameters in the Fucus vesiculosus thallus. Two populations growing under conditions of different water exchange (in the bay protected from surf and on the open coast subjected to the sea surf) were analysed. The data obtained made it possible to find out the peculiarities in formation of the thallus and its carbon exchange with the environment. It is shown that the intensity of water exchange makes an important contribution to formation and functioning of the thallus. The paper discusses interrelation of different morphological and physiological characters in the process of the thallus growth.
