| ABSTRACT Obtaining high yields in strawberry crop requires the use of transplants with high sanitary and physiological quality. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the effect of the origin of strawberry transplants on quality, carbohydrate content and subsequent development and field production. Treatments covered four transplant origins: Argentina, Chile, Chuí (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) and São Francisco de Paula (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) and two cultivars (Camarosa and Camino Real) in experimental design of randomized blocks with four replicates, conducted between April and December 2010. | RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a influência do volume de alvéolos em bandejas no crescimento, no desenvolvimento de mudas e na produção de frutas do morangueiro. Os tratamentos consistiram em quatro volumes de alvéolos (50; 100; 180 e 312 mL) e duas cultivares (‘Camarosa’ e ‘Aromas’), em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições, nove plantas por parcela, conduzido no período entre abril e dezembro de 2011. Avaliaram-se os seguintes parâmetros: qualidade, crescimento, desenvolvimento das mudas e produção de frutas. Mudas com torrão produzidas em recipientes com maior volume de alvéolos proporcionaram maior precocidade e produção, em decorrência do maior diâmetro da coroa e a massa seca de parte aérea e raízes.... |

| ABSTRACT The blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade, Ericaceae) is a small fruit with great growth potential in Brazil. This research was developed in order to identify the insects found on associated to the different phenological stages of blueberry in order to implement the integrated pest management for this crop. Insect samples were collected from three orchards, in the region of Pelotas, RS, from January 2010 to June 2012. The data were analyzed based on the composition and abundance of the collected insects. In all three sites, 2,354 insects were studied and the majority belonged to Hymenoptera (72%), Coleoptera (16%), Hemiptera (6%) and Diptera (4%).
