PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF WEEDS IN CULTIVARS OF COMMON BEANS WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF GROWTH IN THE NORTH OF MINAS GERAIS Planta Daninha
BATISTA,P.S.C.; OLIVEIRA,V.S.; CAXITO,A.M.; CARVALHO,A.J.; ASPIAZÚ,I..
ABSTRACT The objective of this paper was to characterize the phytosociology of weeds in function of different types of growth of common bean cultivars in the North of Minas Gerais. The study was conducted in the experimental area, located in the municipality of Janaúba, MG. The treatments consisted of eight commercial cultivars of common beans with different types of growth. The design was done in randomized blocks, with three replications. The soil preparation was conventional and the planting was done in June, with manual seeders, with a 0.5 m spacing between rows. The phytosociological survey was performed in two phases of bean cultivation, in stages V3 and R8. The method used was the square inventory one, with a 0.25 m2 frame, randomly released once in...

PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF WEEDS IN ERECT PROSTRATE COWPEA CULTIVARS Planta Daninha
BATISTA,P.S.C.; OLIVEIRA,V.S.; SOUZA,V.B.; CARVALHO,A.J.; ASPIAZÚ,I..
ABSTRACT The goal of this study is to characterize the weed phytosociology in some major erect and prostrate cowpea cultivars in Brazil, in the Northern growing conditions of Minas Gerais state. The test was conducted in Janaúba, Minas Gerais state. The treatments consisted in five erect cultivars (BRS Guariba, BRS Tumucumaque, BRS Novaera, BRS Itaim and BRS Cauamé) and four prostrate ones (BRS Marataoã, BRS Pajeú, BRS Pujante and BRS Xiquexique). The plots were composed of four five meter rows, spaced 0.5 m apart, for erect cultivars and 1.0 m for the prostrated ones. Weed sampling was performed 50 days after sowing by standard Square Method. The species were identified and quantified, and then dried at 65 oC for 72 hours and weighed. The frequency,...

INTERFERENCE AND ECONOMIC THRESHOLD LEVEL FOR CONTROL OF BEGGARTICK ON BEAN CULTIVARS Planta Daninha
GALON,L.; FORTE,C.T.; GABIATTI,R.L.; RADUNZ,L.L.; ASPIAZÚ,I.; KUJAWINSKI,R.; DAVID,F.A.; CASTOLDI,C.T.; PERIN,G.F.; RADUNZ,A.L.; ROSSETTI,J..
ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to assess the interference and determine the economic threshold level of beggartick damage on bean crops. Treatments consisted of bean cultivars (IPR Uirapuru, BRS Supremo, BRS Campeiro, Fepagro 26, BRS Esplendor and IPR Tuiuiú) submitted to competition with ten beggartick populations. We evaluated plant population, leaf area, ground cover and shoot dry mass of beggartick. Dry mass of shoots of beggartick fitted better to the hyperbolic model, and grain yield losses due to beggartick interference were estimated satisfactorily by this model. BRS Esplendor and IPR Tuiuiú were more competitive than the others in the presence of beggartick. Sowing of BRS Esplendor, IPR Tuiuiú and Fepagro 26 increases the level of economic...

Physiological Variables in Pineapples Submitted to the Application of Diuron Planta Daninha
CARVALHO,A.R.J.; MAIA,V.M.; ASPIAZÚ,I.; PEGORARO,R.F.; OLIVEIRA,F.S.
ABSTRACT Diuron is a widely used herbicide on pineapple cultivations. However, its application is recommended only for the implementation of the crop. The objective of this work was to evaluate the gas exchanges of four pineapple cultivars submitted to the application of the herbicide diuron at their reproductive stage. The experiment was conducted with the IAC Fantástico, Vitória, MD2 and Pérola pineapple cultivars using the active ingredient diuron at a dose of 7.5 mL L-1. Measurements of CO2 assimilation rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration, vapor pressure deficit and water use efficiency were carried out weekly, by the hour, on two plants per cultivar, over a 24 hour period. These determinations were carried out two days before the application of...

Weed Interference on ‘Prata-Anã’ Banana Production Planta Daninha
SANTOS,G.C.; MAIA,V.M.; ASPIAZÚ,I.; PEREIRA,M.C.T.; DONATO,S.L.R.; NOBRE,D.A.C..
ABSTRACT: In the state of Minas Gerais, the northern region is one of the main banana production cores. Weed interference can reduce crop growth and, consequently, lead to reduced yield and fruit quality. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the interference of weeds in the production of the first and second cycles of ‘Prata-Anã’ bananas. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with ten treatments and three replicates, evaluated in two crop cycles. The treatments were ten periods of weed control, from planting: without control; control throughout the whole experimental period; control only in the first month after planting; control until the second; third; fourth; fifth; sixth; eighth and tenth months after planting. The agronomic...

Physiological Quality of Carioca Bean Seeds Submitted to the Application of Desiccant Herbicides in Two Periods Planta Daninha
CASTOLDI,C.T.; RADUNZ,L.L.; GALON,L.; ASPIAZÚ,I.; FORTE,C.T.; SCARIOT,M.A.; SOUZA,D.O..
ABSTRACT: The use of herbicides for bean crop desiccation aiming seed production, is an alternative management because it allows harvesting when the seeds present high vigor, germination and dry mass, however this technique can cause damages to the seeds. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of bean seeds, of the Carioca type, with the application of desiccant herbicides doses at different periods, aiming at the anticipation of the harvest. The bean plants, Pérola cultivar, were desiccated when the seeds had 42 and 30% water content, with ammonium glufosinate, saflufenacil and diquat at doses of 0, 50, 75 and 100% in relation to the recommended average dose for desiccation, respectively for each of the herbicides. The...
