| In oktober 1993 vond ik te Wierden (km-hok 238-487) langs een voetpad een kaasjeskruid met zeer kleine bloemen. Determinatie met de Heukels’ Flora¹ deed me – naar later zou blijken ten onrechte – uitkomen op Kleinbloemig kaasjeskruid: de bloemen waren zeer klein en de vruchten hadden een scherp randje. De plant heb ik ter nadere controle aan Pieter Stolwijk afgegeven, maar hij vond toen geen aanleiding om aan mijn determinatie te twijfelen. Publicatie volgde in de Nieuwsbrief FLORON-FWT.² In oktober 1996 vond ik opnieuw een kleinbloemig kaasjeskruid, nu te Vriezenveen (km-hok 238-490). Er stonden zeker 10 exemplaren, bloeiend en vruchtdragend, naast een mestopslagplaats bij de ingang van een perceel aardappelen. De planten waren buitengewoon sterk... |

| Callitriche palustris is very rare in the Netherlands. The last recent records were from 1953 and 1979. Therefore it is quite remarkable that in 1999 and 2000 C. palustris was found at several locations by independent observers: 1. Poached clay overlying sandy soils along the river Vecht which flooded during extremely high water; 2. Ditches in low-lying parts of a clay polder. The ditches are probably fed by a combination of precipitation and inflow from the river Rhine; 3. The dried up bank of an oxbow of the river IJssel, in riparian grassland under intensive agriculture; 4. Silt exposed after spring flooding on the edge of the IJsselmeer; 5. The sandy margin of a lake in the floodplain of the river Waal. The authors suggest that these recent records do... |

| Amaranthus bouchonii Thell. was first recorded in the Netherlands in 1947. Since then it has been found in some ports and industrial areas, and in 1983 it naturalised along the river Waal. Its indehiscent fruits differ distinctly from those of A. hybridus L. which are dehiscent. Minor, but constant differences occur in the length of the tepals and the bracteoles. Amaranthus hybridus was first found in the Netherlands in 1829. Now it occurs in the southern part of the country as a rather common alien in dynamic areas: ports, industrial areas, arable fields, rubish tips and river banks. | In september 1996, tijdens een van mijn vele plantenstrooptochten door het FLORON-district Twente, kwam ik in een landbouwgebied bij Dedemsvaart terecht. Landbouwgebieden met veel sloten en leidingen hebben een grote aantrekkingskracht op mij, daar ze soms schatten aan informatie opleveren. Door middel van de gevonden planten kan ik mij een beeld vormen hoe een gebied er vroeger uitzag en hoe het er momenteel aan toe is. Vol energie begon ik aan een inventarisatie van een berm langs een vrij ruderaal uitziend landbouwperceel (km-hok 232-512 en 232- 513). Er stond niet veel bijzonders zoals Kropaar ( Dactylis glomerata), Engels raaigras ( Lolium perenne), Zwaluwtong ( Fallopia convolvulus), Heggenwikke (Vicia sepium) en een soort uit de Duizendknoopfamilie... |
