| Anomalies arising in the embryological development of the aortic arch and its branches are essencial in the emergence of variations in the origin and course of supra aortic vessels. Classically, 95% of cases, the aortic arch gives rise to the brachiocephalic artery, left common carotid artery and left subclavian artery. While the left vertebral artery arises normally from the left subclavian artery. In this presentation we describe two cases of the left vertebral artery being born of the aortic arch. The importance of anatomical knowledge of this arterial variety is fundamental for base neck and aortic arch surgery, in cervicothoracic trauma that compromises the vascular elements and in endovascular procedures in the region. |

| El conocimiento de la anatomía de la vía biliar y sus variantes para la realización de una cirugía segura, resulta fundamental. La extirpación de la vesícula requiere cuidadosa atención, conocer muy bien la anatomía de la región, teniendo en cuenta la posibilidad de variaciones anatómicas. La mala interpretación de la anatomía percibida más que una falta en la destreza técnica es la causa de la lesión de la vía biliar durante la colecistectomía. | La anatomía de la región inguinal está bien descrita y detallada en la literatura, pero existen algunas controversias vinculadas al ligamento reflejo y a su inserción medial. El objetivo fue analizar la inserción del ligamento inguinal reflejo del músculo oblicuo externo en la línea alba, mediante lo observado en disecciones cadavéricas. Se utilizaron 30 cadáveres formolizados, en los que el ligamento reflejo fue disecado hasta su inserción en la línea alba. Se encontró la presencia del ligamento inguinal reflejo en 25 (83,33%) casos, 16 (64%) hombres y 9 (36%) mujeres, de los cuales sólo en 2 (8%) casos se observó la inserción interdigitada del ligamento inguinal reflejo con el contralateral; y en 5 (16,67%) casos (3 mujeres y 2 hombres), se constató... |

| Today, alternatives methods are developed for the use of laboratory animals for teaching, research and surgical training. In our work we present a novel alternative to the use of rats, by developing a technique of plastination at room temperature. High-quality rat preparations from the anatomical dissection point of view were obtained, in order to indefinitely preserve them dry, the thoracic and abdominal organs conserve its natural volume and shape, maintaining their texture and color. No odors or hassles and toxic vapors of conventional preserving agents were found.
