Bioresource products like cassava, which are susceptible to deterioration and waste, benefit greatly from drying as a preservation technique. A prototype for drying cassava chips and other agricultural goods has been developed and tested. Heat source, suction blowers, and drying chambers make up this dryer. An air-forced drying chamber is a separate unit from a drying chamber. Air-forced chamber uses ambient air to dry, while drying chamber uses heat from biomass furnace. Fresh cassava root was peeled, rinsed, and chopped using a cassava chipping machine in a thickness range of 5 to 8 mm. In the drying chamber, the cassava chips had an initial moisture content of 68.21 %, which was reduced to 8.35 % after 150 min of drying,... |
