Organophosphates (OPs) are widely used as pesticides, and its urinary metabolites as well as the blood cholinesterases (ChEs) activity have been reported as possible biomarkers for the assessment of this pesticide exposure. Moreover, the OPs can induce mutagenesis, and the bone marrow micronucleus test is an efficient way to assess this chromosomal damage. This paper reports a study carried out to verify the correlation among the disulfoton exposure, blood ChEs activity, urinary diethyl thiophosphate (DETP), and diethyl dithiophosphate (DEDTP), as well as micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes (MNPCEs) frequency. A. crassiflora Mart. a Brazilian savannah fruit, is a source of phytochemical compounds that possess a wide array of biological activities, including free radical scavenging. This native fruit proved to potentialize the mutagenic process in previous in vivo investigations. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of A. crassiflora Mart. pulp intake on colonic cell proliferation and on the development of Aberrant Crypt Foci (ACF) in male Wistar rats. The animals were fed with either a commercial diet or a diet supplemented with A. crassiflora Mart. pulp mixed in 1%, 10% or 20% (w/w) for 4 weeks or 20 weeks. Marolo (Annona crassiflora Mart.): a study of value chain and processing Ciênc. Tecnol. Aliment.

This article aims to discuss the needs and problems of marolo value chain, as well as to evaluate the rehydration process of this fruit as a possibility of using it as a by-product during the interharvest growth periods. The study of the value chain included interviews with producers, handlers, and fruit and by-product sellers. In order to evaluate the rehydration process of this fruit, marolo was dehydrated using a conventional procedure and freeze-drying. The experiments were conducted in a completely randomized design and a triple factorial scheme (2 × 2 × 6). ANOVA was performed, followed by the Tukey's test (p < 0.05). Soja transgênica BRS 243 RR: determinação de macronutrientes e das isoflavonas daidzeína e genisteína por Cromatografia Líquida de Alta Eficiência (CLAE) Ciênc. Tecnol. Aliment.

Este trabalho teve por objetivo determinar a composição centesimal e o conteúdo de Daidzeína (D) e Genisteína (G) da cultivar BRS 243 RR por CLAE. O preparo da amostra para cromatografia envolveu a remoção da gordura com hexano . Os analitos foram extraídos com etanol 70% acrescido de 0,1% de ácido acético. As condições cromatográficas otimizadas foram: coluna C18, fase móvel metanol: ácido acético 5% (1:1 v/v), vazão 0,5 mL/minuto, temperatura da coluna 30 °C, volume de injeção 40 µL e leitura em 254 nm. Os parâmetros de validação avaliados foram: linearidade y = 11242 x -37433, r = 0,9976 (D) e y = 18510 x -66761, r = 0,9980 (G); coeficientes de variação dos estudos de precisão intradia CV = 5,3% (D), CV = 6,7% (G) e interdias CV = 8,7% (D), CV = 9,7%...
