| The objective of this experiment was to estimate the requirements of energy, protein and macrominerals of grazing crossbreds calves, in Brachiaria decumbens Stapf pasture, castrated at different ages, with and without supplementation. Forty-seven young calves at initial age of 120±30.1 days and 115.3±1.97 kg of live weight were used. To estimate net energy requirements for weight gain, a regression equation between energy retained in the gain and empty body weight gain and metabolic empty body weight was obtained. | Objetivou-se determinar as exigências proteicas de bovinos anelorados, em pastagem com Brachiaria decumbens suplementada com concentrado. Foram utilizados 28 novilhos zebuínos não-castrados com média de 7 meses de idade e 180 kg. Foram abatidos oitos animais-referência para determinação da composição corporal inicial. Os 20 animais restantes foram divididos em cinco lotes de quatro animais, em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, de modo que cada lote recebeu um dos cinco planos nutricionais: mantença; mistura mineral; e suplementação nos níveis de 0,75; 1,50 e 2,25 kg/animal/dia. | Avaliaram-se os efeitos de suplementos múltiplos com diferentes níveis de uréia sobre o desempenho produtivo e os parâmetros nutricionais de bovinos em fase de terminação mantidos em pastagem diferida de capim-braquiária (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu) no período de transição águas-seca. A disponibilidade estimada de matéria seca das pastagens variou de 16.360 a 9.358 kg/ha. Para avaliação do desempenho produtivo, utilizaram-se 20 novilhos mestiços não-castrados, com 20 meses de idade e 376 kg de peso vivo. | The objective of this study was to evaluate performance and nutritional traits of beef cattle raised on pastures, castrated at different ages, with and without supplementation. Forty-four crossbred young bulls with predominance of Zebu breed at initial average age of 120±30 days were used in the experiment. Animals were distributed in a completely randomized design in a factorial arrangement with four ages of castration and two supplementation systems. | This experiment aimed at evaluating the productive performance, intake and the apparent digestibility in the raising of beef heifers on Brachiaria decumbens Stapf. pastures under supplementation with starch or fibrous energy sources during the dry season. It was used 40 newly weaned heifers (20 Nellore and 20 crossbreed), at 8.5 months of age and 197.9 ± 3.74 kg initial weight. | The objective was to evaluate the effect of four levels of ground corn supply on nutritional parameters, microbial synthesis efficiency and growing performance of beef heifers, at the rainy season. | The study assessed performance, microbial protein synthesis, intake and digestibility of nutrients by beef heifers receiving levels of multiple supplements or nitrogen salt, in a self-controlled intake, on pasture, during the dry season.
